George Nader Obituary

"> George M. Nader, Sr.
George M. Nader, Sr., 74, of Bethlehem, passed away on the evening of May 14, 2012 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethlehem. He was the husband of Marie (Snyder) Nader, with whom he shared 8 years of loving marriage. Born in Shenandoah, George was a son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Azar) Nader, Sr. His family moved to Allentown, where George graduated from Allentown High School. While in high school, he was in the US Naval Reserves, and then later served his country in the US Army. Upon leaving the Army, he pursued a career in automotive repair, and then owned Nader Brothers Exxon at 15th and Tilghman Streets until his retirement in 2002. George was very active in his community, and will be remembered as the past President at the Lehigh Valley Club, where he enjoyed hiring entertainers for many club activities. He was a member of the Police Athletic League, and of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Allentown. He enjoyed woodworking in his shop at home, as well as boating, fishing, and riding motorcycles. He was fascinated by modern technology, and spent many happy hours on his computer and iPad. George was an avid sports fan who closely followed the Philadelphia Eagles and NASCAR racing. He loved travelling throughout the United States, Europe, Central America, and the Bahamas. He will be remembered as a hard worker and conscientious business-owner. His family will remember and respect his convictions of doing what is right and putting others first. He will be greatly missed by his many family members and friends, but we delight in the knowledge that he is reunited with his parents and his siblings. And we joyfully anticipate the time when we will all be united with him in our Fathers Heavenly Home. Survivors: George will be missed by his loving wife, Marie; son, George Nader, Jr., and his wife Cecelia of Bethlehem; son, Christopher and his wife Ingela of Macungie; stepdaughters, Cindy Robertson and her husband Steve of Germansville, Kathleen ODonnell and her husband Joseph of Maryland; stepsons, Michael Beidler and his wife Amanda of Schnecksville, Dennis Beidler and his wife Alison of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Samantha and Alison Nader, Madison and Alexandria Nader, Kimberly Rudolph, Jo Durfey, Donald Durfey, III, Krissy Dooly, Thomas and Mica Gabala, who are both currently serving in the US Army; five great-grandchildren. George was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Nader; and by his sisters, Louise Chally, Lillian Rygielski, Helen Nader, and Betty Ann Tonelis. Services: Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, 18018. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 37 S. Fifth St., Allentown, 18101, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services. Well, George, you already know how much I miss you. You have a good vantage point and I know you will watch over Marie and the rest of us.
Marie, George, Chris and families, I pray you are blessed with comfort and peace knowing that he is resting in our Lord's loving and warm embrace. Relying on our faith, we know all the pain and struggles of his human life are no longer a burden.
And, yes, we know it won't be quiet there. What a reunion! They have probably already planned a party. Eternal Rest, my Dear Friend.
