George Zischang Obituary

George Zischang, 71, of Hilltown Township, Bucks County, died July 13 in his home. He was married to Marian (Yothers) Zischang for 28 years last August. He was a meat cutter for 24 years, working on the cutting floor and in the bacon room, for Hatfield Packing Co., Montgomery County, before retiring in 1997. Previously, he worked for Young Bearings, Colmar, and also worked on the family farm, Hatfield. Born in Bucks County, he was a son of Elizabeth (Goller) Zischang of Lansdale and the late Alfred Zischang Sr. He was a Navy Reserve veteran, serving on the USS Charles S. Sperry. He was a former member of the Keelersville Club. He showed his 1957 Buick Super and 1938 Chevrolet at area antique car shows. Survivors: Wife; mother; sons, Michael R. of Quakertown, Jeffrey of Lansdale; stepson, Larry Wambold of West Rockhill Township; stepdaughters, Judy Stump of Telford, Geraldine Gingrich of Sellersville, Wendy Hartman of Lansdale; sister, Sonya of Hatfield; eight grandchildren, a great-granddaughter. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch St., Perkasie. Call 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday. Contributions: Alzheimer's Association of Southeast Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
