Opal Vickers Joyce, 82, of Dothan, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Flowers Hospital. The family will receive friends at Byrd Funeral Home from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Father Johnny Celzo officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. (EST) Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL with Byrd Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Joyce was born in Pansey, Alabama and lived in Dothan most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Major John "Jack" Joyce, parents, Andrew and Willie Vickers, and brothers, Martin and Lester. She is survived by a son, Joseph; daughter, Ann; brother, Early and a sister, Hazel. Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street 334-793-3003 is in charge of arrangements.
