Grace Capuano Obituary

Grace C. Capuano, 91, of Bethlehem died on Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at the V.N.A. Hospice House of St. Lukes. She was born September 11, 1916, in Bethlehem, the daughter of the late Rocco and Antoinette (Marinaccio) Carchio. Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Anthony M. Tony Capuano on October 9, 2007. In addition to being a dedicated mother and wife, she was the owner of Graces Yarn and Gift Shop on 4th and Williams Streets in Bethlehem from 1947 to 1962 and assisted her husband in his business, Cappys Shoe Repair, from 1962 to 1965. Grace was a member of Our Lady of Pompeii Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Bethlehem. Survivors: Sisters, Lucy, wife of John Gorcsan of Ft. Hill, Anne, wife of George Marinkovich of Dillon, Mont.; brothers, John Carchio, husband of Teresa of Lower Saucon Township, Francis Carchio, husband of Patricia of Bethlehem Township; several nieces and nephews. Grace was predeceased by her daughters, Antoinette and Tina, brothers, Anthony Carchio and Rocco Carchio Jr., sisters, Mamie Verdensky and Mary Anne Tonetti. Services: A visitation will be held 8-9 a.m. Friday, November 2, at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m., Friday, November 2, at the church, 826 E. 4th St., Bethlehem. On line condolences may be made at www.connellfuneral.com. Contributions: May be made to the church.
