Grace Loeffler Obituary

Grace Elizabeth Loeffler, RN, BSN, M.Ed., 62, of Macungie, died on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. Born in Shenandoah, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (Goudge) Loeffler. Grace graduated from Ashland State General Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1979, received her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from DeSales University, and earned her Master's Degree in Education from Temple University. She was currently employed as the Director of Academic and Special Programs at Lehigh Career & Technical Institute (LCTI) where she worked for the last 28 years. Previously she was employed as a Registered Nurse at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Twp. She enjoyed helping people and spent her career doing just that.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and she loved researching genealogy, going on vacation, and home improvements projects.

Her family was the most important thing to her, and she spent as much time with them as possible. Whether it was Sunday night dinner, going on a vacation to the beach or some faraway place, she was always with her family. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Friend. She loved to babysit her Granddaughter every chance she had.

Survivors: Sons, Jordan Guldin, Aaron Guldin and his partner, Hilary Schnabel; Granddaughter, Nancy Guldin; Sister, Joanne Brentari; and Faithful Companion, Ireland. She was preceded in death by a Brother, Frank Loeffler.

Services: A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2021. Arrangements by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Emmaus.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your favorite local charity.

It was my honor and pleasure to work with Grace. As a true and competent leader, she demonstrated faith and trust in her team. She always expressed support and encouragement to let me explore new creative ideas which I appreciated, since a few were pretty “out there.” It was inspiring for me to witness how she would not back away from a challenging situation. I admire how she stood up for what she believed was right, while maintaining her dignity and principles.

Grace was such a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She often came around to show her staff the latest pictures of her precious “Sunshine” Nancy, or to share a story about her sons. The pride she had for her family is one of the fondest memories I’ll keep in the place in my heart that belongs to Grace. Rest In Peace, my friend. You are dearly missed.

My deepest condolences to Grace's family. I had the great pleasure of working with Grace at LCTI and then knowing her as a trusted friend after I left LCTI in 2012. Grace could always get a laugh out of me. We shared many discussions about tracing family roots and our mutual interest in being "grandchildren" of the Revolution. Grace took over my position at LCTI and joked that since she was a "paper person" (and I a keeper of "digital" records) that I would not recognize my old desk when I visited. She was right and in fact I couldn't even see my old desk under the mountains of paper Grace was juggling. We laughed pretty hard about that! But Grace was always the professional and extremely good at her job. Everyone loved Grace and so did I.

To Grace's Family,
I am deeply saddened to hear of Grace's passing. I have known her a very long time. We were friends both in and out of school. Went to many movies together, high school games, even listened as she took her piano lesson, & we took many long walks to talk when she would visit her sister Joanne whom lived next door. Grace was a very special person with a gentle warm spirit. She will live on in our hearts. With my deepest sympathy, I pray that your memories & God's keeping bring you peace & comfort. God Bless.

I was fortunate to have known Grace for over 20 years, first in a professional capacity and eventually as a good friend. The last time I spoke with her she was looking forward to spending more time with her two sons and especially her granddaughter, Nancy. Grace was an amazing person who had a great sense of humor. She touched the lives of so many people in a positive way. To her family, my wife and I offer our sincere condolences. Hopefully the wonderful memories you have of this very special person will lesson the pain of your loss.

Though Grace was only in my life a short time I learned a lot from her, most importantly how truly important family is and how much it means to set time aside specifically to be with family. A kinder or more generous woman could not be found. My heart is with her family and I hope peace finds their hearts in this time of grief.

My friend Grace. I feel very lucky to have worked with her for the last 20 years. Grace was always very caring and compassionate and often referred to her coworkers as her work family. Grace and I worked very closely together for the past nine years and I miss her dearly. Grace was so proud of her sons and beyond excited to have her granddaughter in her life. Aaron and Jordan I am so very sorry for your loss and hope the memories you have will bring comfort now and in the future. With love. Renee

Grace was so special and made a true, genuine impact on the lives of those she came in contact with.
I have so many fond memories of Grace. She got me into genealogy, told me fun tales of her adventures, planning Jordan’s surprise party, of course our epic D&D dinner, and randomly running into one another at concerts over the years. My last conversation with Grace was in January and we talked about how fast time goes, how much she was looking forward to spending more time with sweet Nancy, and what adventures life had in store. I feel so blessed to have had her in my life for the short time I did.
Grace will be so, so missed by not only her family but her friends as well.
Aaron and Jordan, again, I’m so so sorry for your tremendous loss.
With love,
The Hattons
