Harry T. Shamenek

Harry T. Shamenek, 73, of Lake Harmony, and formerly of Fountain Hill, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. He was the husband of Kathleen M (Erich) Shamenek for 48 years. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Louis and Mary (Bush) Shamenek. Harry attended Liberty High School and graduated from the Colorado State University in 1974. He served his country honorably with the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Harry had worked at the Bethlehem Steel in the Coal Research Department for a number of years and more recently retired from Thompson Mailing Corp. in Berwick. He loved spending his time outdoors fly fishing and hunting. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife Kathleen, daughter, Jennifer Kresge and husband Randy of Pottstown, granddaughter, Kaitlyn; siblings, Mary Lou Chicote and husband Al of Bennington, VT, Louis Shamenek and wife Karen of Etters, PA, Karen Metzger and husband Richard of Bethlehem; several nieces and nephews. Services: A memorial service will be held 11 AM on Monday, May 16 at Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway, Fountain Hill, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.
