Helen Ambrose

1921 - 2016

Helen A. (Aldinger) Ambrose, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2016, at the age of 95. Born on September 25, 1921, Mrs. Ambrose was the daughter of Albert L. Aldinger and Kathryn M. (Trimble) Aldinger. She was married for 67 years to Michael E. Ambrose, who died in 2014. Mrs. Ambrose was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. She graduated from Bethlehem High School and Bethlehem Business School. She proudly served in the United States Navy WAVES during World War II, at the Great Lakes Naval Air Station. Helen was employed by the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for many years. She was also employed by the County of Northampton, where she worked in the Office of Prothonotary. Helen was a long-time volunteer for Musikfest, and she served as an Inspector of Elections for Northampton County. Mrs. Ambrose was a member of the Nu Phi Mu sorority. Affectionately known to everyone as "Honey," she enjoyed many friendships and associations throughout her life. Helen will be lovingly remembered by her nephews, Kevin Kelleher and his wife Bonnie, of Bethlehem, and John J. Kelleher, Jr. and his wife Susan, of Hellertown; grand-nephew Patrick Kelleher and grand-nieces Kathleen Kelleher, Megan Kelleher and Morgan Kelleher. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathryn M Kelleher, who died in 2011 and her brother, Albert J. Aldinger, who died in 2010. Services: A calling hour will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 9-10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 10a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018.
