Dear David and Ann and family, I'm very sorry for the loss of your wonderful father. I was so privileged to get to know Hank during his time here at Phoebe. What a very special man he was! He touched my heart along with so many others here. We would have celebrated his birthday with him today even though he would much rather have celebrated it with you all. He was such a loving family man, always speaking so highly of all of you. He was so proud to be a one-man woman, loving Joyce since they were just kids. We'd have a singer come to Phoebe and he'd say, 'Why should I go hear someone else sing besides my wife? She's the best!' He was a man who knew his wife was the best, who knew his children were the best, who knew his own home was the best. There just was never any greener grass for Hank than all of you! I just want you to know that I have a special place for Hank in my heart. I'll continue to lift his name in prayer as well as Joyce.
Love,
Lily Winzer

Dear Joyce and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many memories of Henry. The volleyball games, the readings he did at the Memorial day services, the jokes, and all the stories. I think about him every time I set up microphones and how he loved helping me and being called my "roadie". Rest in peace Henry

To the Shankweiler family,
My heartfelt condolences to you in this time of sorrow.
I will always remember him from our days at BSCO Saucon. He was a great person who took you under his wing, not only about work but the finer points of spraying and pruning apple trees. I will always remember his cheerful personality. RIP

I have fond memories of Henry, Joyce & family from my childhood days when the Bastian & Shankweiler families participated with the Paul Weiand PA Dutch group at the Kutztown Folk Festival every summer. As an adult, living in Schnecksville I remember Henry putting around town on his motorcycle, stopping at the grocery store, always having a friendly smile and stopping to chat a bit! He was an asset to our community with his many years of dedicated service on many levels and will surely be missed. My condolences to Joyce and family.

I worked with Hank at Bethlehem Steel for a few years, we both owned Volvo 760 Turbo-diesels at the time so we shared mechanics and vehicles issues with each other. He was a good and fair supervisor.

Dear Joyce & Family
My sincere condolences to Joyce, Sons and Daughter.
Henry was my first supervisor when I started working at Bethlehem Steel.
Those early years were the best of times I spent working there. I always
admired Henry for the way he conducted his family life, his dedication to
Joyce, his sons and daughter. His faith was always at the forefront of his life.
His dedication to his community and involvement in organizations like the
Grange, Lions Club, Grundsow Lodge and others also exemplified his life as
I knew It. The years after his retirement in joining us at our Beth Steel
retirement breakfasts, also showed how he cared about his former co-workers.

May He R.I.P.

Dear Joyce and Family,
Pat and I wanted to express our sympathy to you regarding Henry's death. I enjoyed sharing the ministry at ULC with him and having him tutor me in PA Dutch. He was a great conversationalist.

One of the fondest pictures I have of him in my mind happened when he accompanied our disaster response group to the Ohio Valley. While rebuilding a home a young boy drove his atv up to the house to see how it was going. Henry started a conversation with him about his vehicle and the next thing I see is Henry sitting on it; turning is ball cap around and heading down the road. He came back with a big smile and when he got off he said, "Now, that's alright."

May God fill the void in your lives with God's love and compassions, as we keep you all in our prayers.

Blessings,

Pr. Dennis and Pat Moore
