James Weaver Obituary

James F. Weaver
James F. Weaver, remarkably charming husband and father, steadfast business owner, army veteran, and sports enthusiast, died on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA at the age of 73. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Weiss) Weaver for 53 years and the son of the late Charles and Elsie (Ruch) Weaver. Jim, commonly referred to as Fin or Ellie!, took great pride for over 50 years in his family-owned and operated roofing business, James F. Weaver Roofing. As a roofer, he was very appreciative of the small things like a cloud or shady tree, a roof without multiple layers of shingles, a cool breeze, or a slice of his wifes delicious raspberry pie. Photos of Jim can be found in most reputable dictionaries defining the words grit and work ethic. Although his death was sudden, Jims life was fulfilled by passing these qualities to his four children, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was a man of select words and led his family by example. Survivors: His wife; children, Cindy, wife of Joseph Talago, Robert, Timothy and wife, Leigh Ann and Bonnie, wife of Timothy Krise; grandchildren, Justin Talago and wife, Natasha, James and Simon Talago, Aaron, Adam and Addison Weaver; great-grandchildren, Noah and Bianca Talago; siblings, Charles and his wife, Cathy, Gary and his wife, Janis, Nancy, wife of Brian Kleckner, Carol, wife of Roger Worman, and Dawn, wife of Brian Lutz. Services: A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. until a service at 12:30 p.m., both at Norcross Weber Funeral Home, 101 B. N. Main St.,in Coopersburg. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, to Southern Lehigh Living Memorial Park, P.O. Box 112, Coopersburg, PA 18036, Southern Lehigh Public Library, 3200 Preston Lane, Center Valley, PA 18034, or to Animals in Distress, P.O. Box 609, Coopersburg, PA 18036.

My condolences to the Weaver family. It doesn't seem that long ago that I talked to Jimmy at Elsie's funeral. I too remember many stories from my father about him...hunting trips and about what a great roofer he was. Thinking of you all during this very hard time.

I'd like to express heart felt condolences on behalf of my mother, Rosemarie, and myself. We are deeply saddened by the thought of the loss you are experiencing. Our memories of Finn were of a kind, and loving man who rightly took great pride in his family and his work. I will always recall him as warm, kind presence during our short time as neighbors in Coopersburg. My mother's heart is hurting for all of you, knowing that your feeling of loss is devastating. He will be looking over all of you, and his love is always there.

To my best friend Bob and the Weaver family, Words cannot express how sad I feel about the loss of Mr. Weaver. If I could describe him in one phrase it would be that "He was a real man amongst other men". Never spoke too much or expressed much emotion but when he did everyone paid attention. I will always remember his and Mrs. Weaver's presence at the wrestling matches and the offseason wrestling tournaments me and Bob wrestled. If God in Heaven needs a roofer, He now has with Him the best in the business!

Hi Pat, It's a voice from 1959. When I saw James Weaver I was so glad that you mentioned "Fin" He was such a nice guy and we lived in time of Happy Days, atleast most of the time.Sandy and CP and Dave Bath, and Mugs. Those were teenage years, and now I have grandchildren in College. He was always the sweetest guy and you were great too. It's no wonder you were married for 53 year. Tom and I a right behind you with 51 years. I'm sure he is in heaven, and he will always be remembered fondly. Nancy Graver Polak (Sandy and C.P. Harlors cousin) You and your family are in my prayers.

James Weaver was a loving Brother. He was a man of few words. What I will remember most about Jim is his smile. When we would talk about one of his interests, that big smile would come across his face. We found an old turn table when we were cleaning the attic in the gargage of our parents house, recently, he smiled. I thought, I wonder if he will throw an Elvis LP on that when he gets it home? One of our last conversation was about the gas mileage he was getting on the car he purchased for the winter. That really put a smile on his face. One other thing I won't every forget is man, he could burn a softball pitch. Jim was a wonderful roll model. He will be dearly missed by many, especially his family which he dearly loved. I know you are in your place in Heaven.

To a man that most aspire to be, my Uncle Jim was one of a kind. I will miss your laugh, and the way you always used to tease me and say "your going to be trouble, just like your mom". We love you!
