I had the honor of starting to work for Lutron in March of 1966, when it was located in Emmaus. I worked in the Sales and Customer Svce Dept., developing the first order processing system. Orders were typed on an IBM Selectric typewriter! Mr. Spira was such a kind man and would talk with us every day not only about business, but about personal things and ideas. Mrs. Spira would come in often and was always so nice to all the employees. I recall how excited Mr Spira was when the new facility was being built in Coopersburg. One day he just loaded up his car and gave us a personal tour of the unfinished building! There was so much excitement when the new facility opened. I loved working at Lutron. Mr. Spira was a true visionary and wonderful human being. I was so saddened to hear of his passing. My sincerest sympathy to the Spira family.

I left Lutron 6.5 years ago. The one thing I miss is Mr. Spira. He was the spirit that kept Lutron alive. Without him the company will probably go down the drain. Hey - it happens. My deepest sympathies to Mrs. Spira and Susan. You had a wonderful guy in your life.
