John S. Chunko, Jr., 81, of Hellertown, died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown. He is the husband of the late Jane E. (Pearson) Chunko. Born in Lower Saucon Twp. on January 8, 1931 to the late John S. Sr. and Helen E. (Limpar) Chunko. John served our country faithfully in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a General Foreman of the Maintenance Dept. at the Bethlehem Steel retiring in 1991 after 40 years of service. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Edward H. Ackerman Post 397, VFW Post 3094, and Dewey Fire Company, all of Hellertown. Survivors: Children, Michael J. husband of Michele C. of Phoenix, AZ, Cynthia C. wife of Robert S. McKellin of Bethlehem, Janis L. wife of George A. Cashman of Wolfeboro, NH; siblings, Franklin D. Pint and his wife Eleanor of Hellertown, Susan Lysek of Doylestown; grandson, Benjamin J. Cashman. Predeceased by brother, George. Services: Family and friends are invited to call 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Meadows, 1770 Meadows Road, Hellertown followed by a celebratory service and luncheon.
