John David Obituary

John A. David, 72 of Wind Gap, PA passed away on January 25, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center in Allentown, PA. Born February 21, 1949 in Northampton, PA, he was the son of the late Albert and Emma (Solderitz) David. He was the husband of Debra S. (Houck) David with whom he shared 34 years of marriage this past October 3, 2021.

John was the owner/operator of John David Concrete, Wind Gap, PA for 15 years before retiring in 2010. Prior to, he worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corp. as a Foreman in the Iron Foundry for 30 years, he also held the position as shop steward. He was a member of the Wind Gap American Legion Post #724, the Plainfield Riding Club, where he was former Vice President and Sgt. at Arms. John was a long time member of the Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club, Northampton. John honorably served his country as a SP5 in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.

Surviving along with his wife are sons, John A. David, Jr. of Northampton, PA, James David of Wind Gap, PA and Shane J. David of Wind Gap, PA, grandchildren, Zachary, Jared and Katherine, sisters, Janet Saganowich, wife of Stanley of Coplay, PA and Mary Horn of Albrightsville, PA, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Joseph and Albert David.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Queenship of Mary RC Church located at 1324 Newport Avenue Northampton, PA 18067 with the Rev. Patrick Lamb officiating. The family will receive friends prior to Mass from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave, Northampton, PA 18067. Interment with military honors will follow in Plainfield Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Paul's House of Valor Foundation Clinic or Center for Animal Health & Welfare c/o the funeral home.
