Lancaster – Gail A. David, 73, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2026, at Rose Monahan Hospice Residence in Worcester, with her loving wife, sister, and brother-in-law by her side. Raised in Lancaster, Gail was the cherished daughter of the late George O. David and June A. (Burns) David.

A gifted student and natural leader, Gail graduated as Valedictorian of her class in 1971 from Nashoba Regional High School. She went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Philosophy from the State University of New York at Brockport, New York.

From an early age, Gail possessed a deep and lifelong passion for sports, excelling in basketball, field hockey, and softball during her high school years. She earned numerous awards for her athletic achievements, and set school records.

Gail seamlessly combined her love of athletics and education into a meaningful career as a teacher of physical education and health. For many years, she dedicated herself to teaching at-risk youths at the Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps, where her guidance, encouragement, and belief in her students left a lasting and positive impact on countless young lives.

Thirty years ago, Gail moved to Florida where she worked at Resort Marketing, quickly being promoted to Confirmation. Gail established her own business called Escape Landscape, where she earned the respect and trust from her customers. Gail loved the beach and frequented it often before going to the Naples-Fort Myers Greyhound Track where she worked as an official.

Gail was a courageous, compassionate, loving, and determined individual. She cherished and held dear her relationships with family, relatives, and numerous friendships. She was devoted to the bonds she formed that were life-long. Gail was also passionate about football and treasured the time she spent bonding with family members over this pastime interest.

Gail will be lovingly missed by her devoted wife, Louisa F. (Winkens) David; her sister, June David-Fors and husband Richard R. Fors, with whom she lived in the house she grew up in; her sister Bonnie David of South Carolina; her brother James David and his wife Lori of New Mexico; her stepdaughter, Katie Jones and her cherished step-grandchildren Chloe Vandoremalen and Nevaeh Jones of Tennessee; and her step-brothers George David and Richard David. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert David, and her sister, Cindy Lou David.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Kelly Cremation and Funeral Care, 154 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA.
