John Kemmerer Obituary
John H. Big John Kemmerer Jr., 76, of Springfield Township, died Monday, October 30, 2006 in his home. He was the beloved husband of Anna T. (Calabrese) Kemmerer. They were married 51 years on October 15. Born in Bethlehem, Pa., he was the son of the late John H. Sr. and Mildred (Hillman) Kemmerer. He was a supervisor for the former Bell Atlantic Telephone, now Verizon retiring in 1988. John was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers. He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Survivors: In addition to his wife, he will be sadly missed by his children, Joanne, wife of Gregory Barnowsky, of Springfield Township, Brian S. and his wife, Mary, of Springfield Township and Dorena, wife of Jay Harris, of Salisbury Township; daughter-in-law, Tammie Kemmerer of Springfield Township; 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, David J. Services: will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the C.R. Strunk Funeral Home Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St., Quakertown. Call Saturday 9-11 a.m. in the funeral home. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA of St. Lukes, 1510 Valley Center Parkway, Suite 200, Bethlehem, PA 18017 or to the Upper Bucks Regional E.M.S., P.O. 105, Revere, PA 18953.

I would like to express my sorrow and sympathy to the Kemmerer family on the passing of Big John.
John was a true family man and a man of unmatched common sense. If he shared an opinion with you, you listened.I learned alot from him. You always knew where you stood with John, because he would tell you. He always treated me like family and for that I am grateful.
Its been a very bad 10 months for the Kemmerer family and my heart goes out to each and everyone of the family.
I mourn the passing of Big John but more, I celebrate his life and the legacy he left us with and the honor of knowing him and his family.
