John Kovacs Obituary

John Kovacs
John Kovacs, 80, of Nazareth, died June 3, 2005 in the VNA Hospice of St. Lukes, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of the late Stella (Kositz) Kovacs, who died November 2, 2001. He was born in Szent Peterfa, Hungary, son of the late Anton and Theresa (Wagner) Kovacs. He worked various jobs for Hercules Cement Co., Stockertown, retiring as a fork lift operator. He also was a carpenter for various home builders. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a 50-year member of the Holy Family Sick & Relief Society, where he bowled on the B League. He was a life member of the St. Peter & Paul Hungarian Society, Northampton. Survivors: He is survived by a son, John Jr. and his wife, Sue, of Bethlehem; daughter, Marie, wife of Thomas Gurgick, of Nazareth; daughter-in-law, Joanna Kovacs of Nazareth; six grandchildren, Rachel and Jamie Kovacs, Dana, Gina and Tommy Gurgick and Joey Kovacs. He was predeceased by a son, Joseph D., and a baby daughter, Stella, two sisters, Anna and Maria, and a brother, Frank. Services: 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Reichel Funeral Home, 220 Washington Park, Nazareth. Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial in Holy Family Cemetery. Call 7-9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Contributions: May be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or the VNA Hospice of St. Lukes.

I was one of the nurse's aides that took care of john at Gracedale nursing home. He was a sweet man and i ,as many as the other nurse's aides loved him very much and he will be missed. I will not be able to attend the service but i wanted the family to know how much john was loved. God bless.
