John Sedonic
John Sedonic, 86, of Northampton passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg. He was the husband of the late Rita (Suranofsky) Sedonic who died November 3, 2010. John was born August 7, 1927 in Northampton, and he was the son of the late John and Mary (Chrucz) Sedonic. He was a Draftsman for Ingersoll Rand, of Phillipsburg, N.J. and Conmec, of Bethlehem. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church Northampton. John served honorably during World War II in the Navy as a Seaman 2nd Class aboard the battleship USS Wisconsin and during the Korean War in the Army as a Sergeant with the 718th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion. Survivors: Son, John S. Sedonic, of Northampton; daughters, Maria, of Bethlehem, Stephanie, wife of Janis Vitols, of Oakton, VA, Barbara Sedonic, of Emmaus, Anne wife of Damien Bartholomew, of Annandale, VA; two granddaughters Inga Vitols and Marisa Pavlovskis; and a grandson Alex Bartholomew. John was predeceased by his brother Paul and sisters Anna Sedonic, Jennie Kovalchik and Helen Schloffer. Services: Funeral Services will be Friday, December 20 at 10 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Family and friends may call Friday, 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Online condolences may be submitted at www.reichelfuneralhome.com. Contributions: Memorials may be presented to the church.
