John Stasiw Obituary
John E. Stasiw, 90, of Fullerton died Tuesday October 22 in his home surrounded by his loving family. John was the husband of Lena (Reck) Stasiw. He was born August 26, 1923 in Brynci Cerkowni, Ukraine. He was predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Katherine (Jacyszyn) Stasiw. John worked as a mechanic and foreman at Quaker Shoe for many years. John was a survivor of Nazi Concentration Camp - Buchenwald, he was the Author of In The Claws of Nazi Tyrants and he was a member of Organization for the Defense of Four freedoms of Ukraine. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Northampton. Survivors: His wife Lena; sons, John T. Stasiw and his wife Dawn, Michael Stasiw and his wife Gail and Terrence Stasiw; grandsons, Daniel, Aaron, Justin and his wife Ava, and Timothy; several nieces and nephews. Services: Funeral Liturgy will be Saturday October 26 at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1343 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call Saturday, 8:30 - 10 a.m. in the church. Online condolences may be submitted to www.reichelfuneralhome.com. Contributions: To the church.

Condolences to the Stasiw family. We remember how Mr. Stasiw would come to the funeral parlors and say something about the plight of those Ukrainians who had come to the U.S. and he always left some of Ukraine's soil in a jar to be placed in the casket of the deceased. Eternal memory. God bless the Stasiw family.
