John Trinkle Obituary

John A. Trinkle, 89, of Nazareth, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg, of Bethlehem. He was the loving husband of Martha (Unger) Trinkle for 68 years. John was born on December 8, 1933, in Bath, PA. He was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Beltzman) Trinkle. John attended Holy Family Grade School and was a graduate of Nazareth Area High School Class of 1951. For 30 years he was a salesman for Sears Roebuck and Co. in Easton. He was also a courier for Home Health Care, of Easton, for 15 years and co-owned J&F Gunshop with Frank Getz in Nazareth for several years. John was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, and Holy Family Club, both of Nazareth. He was also a member of Coplay Saengerbund where for many years, he thoroughly enjoyed Polka music and dancing with his wife. John was an avid outdoorsman who eagerly anticipated hunting and fishing excursions. He also loved traveling throughout the USA, Mexico, Canada, and Europe. John had many hobbies including gunsmithing, volleyball and stamp collecting, but the two at which he excelled were woodworking and playing his beloved accordion. However, John's greatest love was for his family. John will be deeply missed by wife, Martha; son, Eric Trinkle and wife Mary, of Dover, DE; daughter, Sandra Stephen, of Nazareth; grandsons, Aaron Trinkle and wife Leslie, and Ryan Stephen; great-grandchildren, Johann Trinkle, and Brian & Brianna Soto; and sister, Grace Phillips, of Allentown. He was predeceased by brothers, Frank and Edward Trinkle; sisters, Anna Ranney, and Dolores Terzigni. Family and friends of John are invited to a Memorial Mass on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church, 410 W. Center St., Nazareth, PA 18064. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of his family. The Joseph F. Reichel Funeral Home Inc., of Nazareth is honored to care for Mr. Trinkle and his family at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to "Holy Family Church" and mailed to: 23 Forest Drive Nazareth, PA 18064. The Nazareth High School Class of 1951 expresses their deepest sympathy and condolences to Martha, the Trinkle family , relatives and friends. Johnny was an active participant in high school as a band trumpet player and glee club member. He later devoted his time to his accordion and it became his favorite. We believe John attended all reunions and served as a committee member for five reunions. We recall John selling raffle tickets at the reunions --- five dollars for an arm length of tickets! He added lots of humor... May our Classmate, Johnny, forever rest in peace...
