Dear Casciotti Family, I'm so sorry to read about Joe's passing. When I turned 16 and got my license my Dad (Tal Bridges) said you get gas at Cassie's and put it on my bill. Your Dad and Grandfather went over my Firebird from top to bottom back in 1974 when I drove to South Carolina by myself for the first time. My parents never had to worry about our cars breaking down, not with Cassie's Sunoco taking care of them. Years ago Joe was seated next to an Italian boy in elementary school so he could translate for him. That boy was my father-in-law Vince Ventresca. After Joe saw my husband's obituary, he told me about helping Vince when he moved to the United States. From then on when Vince came to Catty he stopped at the station to see Joe. Such a small world we live in. My condolences to all of you, Mona Bridges Woodring

Joe Debbie and Family
Paul and i would like to offer our sympathy. From what Paul tells me your dad was well liked and everyone felt so comfortable inner acting with him. Those were the days on front st he tells me. I am sure you will carry great memories for the rest of your life. So lucky to have had him as you dad.

To Cassie’s family, please accept my sympathy on his passing. My dad, Frank Smale, and I always took our cars to Cassie for repairs, oil changes etc. He was a great guy. I ran into Cassie a few years ago, when I took my car to the garage that now occupies Cassie’s. I recognized him immediately and was very surprised that he would even remember me and my name. Another good soul is now in heaven. Rest In Peace...

My deepest sympathy on Joe's passing. I lived on 12th Street in Catty around 1980 and have many happy memories of him and Eddie. Joe was a great guy - I especially appreciated him snow-plowing our entire street so that all of the neighbors would have a place to park. I hope happy memories bring comfort at this sad time.

Joe, Mike, and the family our deepest sympathy and prayers for the loss of your father. May I just say your father was not only my employer for so many years, but he has also filled the role of father I didn't have growing up. Without him and Grandpop Orlando's guidance and mentoring I would not be the man I am today. I will miss sitting with him at the old service station/car dealership having coffee and chatting but I will never forget all that was instilled in the learning and mentoring as a child he brought into my life. May the Mighty Eagle lead you on a path of good health and many memories and the Great Spirits lead your father to the Great resting grounds. " Silver Wolf "

Mike and Joe, my condolences to you and your family. Catty lost part of its Golden Old Memory days with the passing of your father. Your dad and “Cassie’s Garage,” was a rock place in our neighborhood and a big part of my life growing up on Front Street during the 60’s and 70’s. I’ll never forget how he took care of my family during the gas rationing year of 1973. When I was an elementary school kid, he would patch my bike tires (at least 3 times a summer) for a dime - plus give me a free coke “to boot,”, while I sat in his office chair or was invited into the workshop area to watch. He made the kids and our families in the neighborhood feel special and safe. We were lucky to have him as part of our community.
