Joseph R. Maieli, 82, of Whitehall passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013. He was the husband of the late Alberta B. Maieli. Born in Brooklyn, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Scotto) Maieli. Joseph was self-employed as a patent counsel for JM Associates. He was the past president of St. John of God parish council, where he served as a lector for many years. Joseph was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed traveling with the Long Island Winne-Tascas RV Club, though his true passion in life was aviation. Survivors: Surviving is a son, Mark Maieli and his wife, Anne Marie, of Miller Place, NY; daughters, Carol Wister of Palm Springs, CA, Suzanne Wingate of Colchester, VT, Kathryn Maieli of Wilder, VT, Heidi, wife of Al Guevara, of Allentown, PA. Joseph had nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Joseph was predeceased by his sister, Anne Marchesano. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. in St. Andrews Catholic Church in Catasauqua. Calling will be on Thursday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in the ODonnell Funeral Home, 1064 Fifth St., N. Catasauqua, PA 18032.
