Mrs. Nemeth,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. As you know, Mr. Nemeth was my 8th grade Science teacher at Springhouse and one of my favorite and most memorable teachers. He was such a kind hearted man and really made the class fun. May you find comfort in the good memories.

Dear Millie,
I was out of town when I was informed of Joe's death. When calling home my sister informed me. I was a school mate of Joe's and saw both of you at the 50th class reunion in October. I was totally shocked when I did find out. I was sorry I was unable to attend the services. I too lost my husband 8 years ago and do indeed know what you are going through. May God bless you and give you peace for he certainly is now at peace.

I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Nemeth's passing. He was my 8th grade science teacher at Springhouse in 1987-1988. I saw him after retirement at Schnecksville Fair. He was too young to go now. 68 is young when some make it past 100. May God comfort you Millie at this difficult time. I lost both my mom's parents to cancer. My brother Brian also had him as a teacher right before he retired in 1993. Robert Krasinski, Parkland Class of '92

Dear Millie: Nancy and I just learned of Joe's passing. You have our deepest condolences and prayers. Joe was an example of an "old school" teacher, you always knew where he stood on any issue. Yet he was always willing to help a person out even if he disagreed with that individual! Joe loved teaching and his many students. If there is a "teachers' heaven," Joe is already there waiting for his Parkland family. With respect, Bob Brand (Troxell JHS) and Nancy Silvernell-Brand (Parkland SD).

Dear Mrs. Nemeth - I am so sorry for your loss and the pain that both you and Mr. Nemeth endured during his suffering. It's really hard when the good die young. It's ironic that the two of you have been in my thoughts. Our daughter, Bronwyn, recently graduated from 7th grade. She was nominated by her teachers and received the spirit of the eagle award for her team. The award honors those who are well-rounded with good character and exemplifies the district cornerstones of respect, responsibility, caring and honesty. I was just telling her last night how lucky she is, as was I, to have such wonderful teachers to help instill good values, a love of learning AND have FUN doing it! Both her middle school science teachers had similar dispositions to teaching, reminding me of my fondness for Mr. Doc. I just loved Mr. Nemeth and his oh so fashionable leisure suits ;>) I will always remember his total devotion and enthusiasm for his students. He reminded me a little of myself because I could always tell when something was bothering him. He wore his emotions in his facial expressions and when you didn't see the contagious, "real" ear to ear smile or the twinkling eyes, you missed them and wanted to fix whatever wasn't right! I played Edith Ann in the talent show 2 years in a row and I truly think that every time I saw him in the hall he would say, "and that's the truth...pththththth!" May you be comforted by loving memories and special moments you had with each other and with family and friends. Keep a strong faith and accept others offers of help whether a long walk or a homemade dinner. And don't forget to enjoy your evening glass of wine...something I remember you always saying in HS. God Bless you both. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. Kelly Collins ('81)

Mrs. Nemeth - I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Nemeth. He was my science teacher in 7th & 8th grade at Springhouse Junior High...and I thought he was the greatest. My Dad attended a Parent's Night and Mr Nemeth gave a speech about his love of teaching and my Dad was so impressed! It's funny, that took place about 35 years ago and I can remember it like it was yesterday. He was one of those teachers you never forget. While I'm here, I'd like to say Hi to you as well. I had you for gym class and always remember your dry sense of humor. You'd be talking to a student in a way that went way over her head, and I laughed out loud and you looked over to me, with a twinkle in your eye and said, "What are you laughing at Sullivan? Is your gym suit clean?" I said "Of course" and you said, "Yeah, right." All these years later I can still hear your voice and I'm still smiling. I hope your memories of Mr Nemeth comfort you at this time and hope you know how much all of his students learned from him and loved him. Carol Sullivan Radzik - Springhouse '74, Parkland '77

Millie:
It seems strange that after many years, a mutual friend of both Joe and myself got us together to golf at Blue Ridge two years ago. Looking back on that one outing, it now means so very much to me. Besides a teacher of the highest quality , he also was a fierce competitor and I learned that never give up attitude while playing for him. He definitely was old school. Never cutting corners but telling you exactly what was on his mind. You always knew where you stood with him which these days is a refreshing quality to have. His passing made me remember back over 40 years ago when both of you were running the summer playground at Ironton Elementary School. Wow, how time flies! My prayers go out to you and your family.

Mrs. Nemeth,
Your husband was my science teacher at Troxell. His sense of discovery, wonder and curiousity was what I remember so vividly about him. He showed us, by example, never to take for granted even the smallest things in the universe. He left some of that curiosity and 'what if ' inside me through the years. He was a great teacher and a wonderful influence. With deep sympathies from the class of '73.

Dear Mrs. Nemeth,
I was deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Mr. Nemeth. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I was incredibly privileged to have Mr. Nemeth for science at Troxell Jr. High before I was very fortunate to have you for my gym teacher and field hockey coach at Parkland High School (Class of 1974). Mr. Nemeth had a special gift of reaching out to all of his students and was a superb teacher.
Sincerely,

Mrs Nemeth I was saddened to hear of the passing of your husband. While I didn't see him often, I don't think a month went by in the past 35 years that I didn't think of "Coach Nemeth". He had a tremendous impact on my life. His enthusiasm and the support he showed towards his players is a rare gift that he had. He taught us about life and about basketball, and I know we shared the joy of that one spectacular season. He instilled confidence in us, something we were all able to use throughout life. Please know that while he isn't with us any more, the positive impact he had on those who played for him will carry on forever. He was an amazing guy. Best wishes to you in these difficult times.

Dear Millie,
It was an honor and privilege to know your wonderful husband. From his smiling eyes to his unforgettable laugh, he was always a pleasure to be around. I was deeply saddened by the news or Mr. Nemeth's death. He was by far one of the most memorable teachers I ever had. He was truly dedicated to his students and will always be remembered for that. Dear Mrs. Nemeth,
Am so sorry to hear about Mr. Nemeth. He was my Science teacher at Troxell Jr. High before I had you for a field hockey coach and gym teacher at Parkland High School. I will always remember him for his humor and smile in the classroom, but most of all I remember when Mr. Nemeth would stop by field hockey practice. He would say something funny and sweet that made you smile. And before he left I would see that twinkle in both your eyes, which showed your deep love you had for each other.
Sincerely, Denise, former student

Dear Millie,
It is always hard to lose an old friend. Joe and I both started teaching at Troxell in 1963. At Springhouse we taught next door to each other for many years. (How well I remember the orange tennis ball!) Joe was a kind and generous man, always willing to help anyone in need. Al and I send our deepest sympathy and love to you. May your memories of Joe comfort you at this time and always.

I had Mr Nemeth for Earth Science at Troxell in the late 60s. I can vividly remember his demeanor in front of the class and his enthusiasm for the subject. I remember too his caring attitude and his sense of humor. But despite all that, his class was one of discipline and learning. He was a master at what he did and the way he lived his life. I am sorry for your loss. The Parkland Community has been hit hard lately and I am sure that all those who have gone ahead are welcoming him with open arms.

Dear Millie,
I will always remember Joe very fondly...those years at Springhouse when he helped to mentor a very inexperienced German teacher. I'll always remember our wonderful conversations in the faculty room and Joe's love of his family and tradition. ( I can still remember how excited Joe would become even about little things...like the recipe for plum dumplings!) I wanted to come and pay my respects this week, but I will be taking 43 of my students to Europe on Monday...but Joe and you will be in my thoughts and prayers!

My deepest sympathy and Christian love to Millie at this most difficult time. Joe was an incredible person--I first came to know him at the former Stahley's Garden Center in the early 1980's, and saw him more recently as part of the Heintzelman staff. He always had a smile, and a wonderful sense of humor, and will be missed. May the Risen Christ offer you comfort and hope in the days ahead.
