Joyce Houser

Joyce Houser 87, of Phoenix, AZ and formerly of Bethlehem and Summit Hill, PA passed away on May 28, 2017. Joyce grew up in Summit Hill, PA graduating from Summit Hill High School in 1947. She then graduated from a Medical Technology program at Albright College in Reading, PA in 1952. She had a 39 yearlong career working in the Allentown Hospital and then the Lehigh Valley Medical Center Blood Bank. Joyce was an active member of a woman's quilting group in Bethlehem and also participated in and was an active supporter of the local Coast Guard Auxiliary in Allentown with her husband. Survivors: She was the beloved wife of Norman Houser (deceased July 2016). Her son, Kenneth L. Houser, his wife Nancy, and their two granddaughters Allison and Kara Houser of Phoenix, AZ survive her. Several nieces and nephews also survive her. She was preceded in death by a son Keith Houser, brother William Kolb, and sister Jean Evans. Services: In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made to the Coast Guard Foundation - www.coastguardfoundation.org. Contributions: A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the mausoleum at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, 1700 Airport Road, Allentown. Family and friends are invited to join a reception after the services.
