Nicholas Houser Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Owen Funeral Home - Jeffersontown on Mar. 18, 2026.
Nicholas Keith Houser, a beloved son, father, and husband, passed away on March 15, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, an experience that reflected his courage and deep sense of duty. Following his military service, Nick built a successful career as an engineer with American Air Filter, where his innovative thinking and ability to see beyond conventional solutions set him apart.

Nick found joy in the outdoors and was never more at peace than when he was surrounded by nature. Whether he was working on his property, riding his horses, or simply enjoying fresh air, he embraced the beauty of the world around him. He was an avid golfer who treasured his time on the greens at Midland Trail Golf Club, where he combined his love for the game with the camaraderie of friends. Nick found great joy and freedom in the skies. For many years, he owned and flew his own small-engine airplane, embracing every opportunity to take flight.

A passionate fan, Nick proudly supported all University of Louisville sports, rarely missing a chance to cheer on his team. His interests also extended far beyond home-he loved exploring new places, traveling, and experiencing all that life had to offer. He approached the world with a unique perspective, always thinking outside the box and encouraging others to do the same.

Nick had a special place in his heart for animals, and his love for pets was evident to all who knew him. His easygoing nature made him someone people were naturally drawn to, and his willingness to lend a hand ensured he was always there when someone needed support.

He will be remembered for his generous spirit, adventurous soul, and the quiet strength he brought to those around him. Nicholas leaves behind cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jackie and Keith Houser.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jeannie, and his daughter, Jaime, who will forever cherish his memory and the love he shared.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by a service at 6:00 p.m.

Nick will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery on Monday, March 23 at 1:00 p.m.

In his honor, donations can be made to Crusade for Children.
