Mrs Dweck was, to say it short, the best, most humble, and kindest teacher I have ever had the immense pleasure of meeting. She was intelligent, while being kind at a motherly level. I cried and screamed for hours when I heard of her untimely passing. My heart goes out to the Dweck Family, for having to go through this pain. I hope she's in the highest level of heaven. Thank you for reading this message, and if Juila is looking down from the heavens at me writing this, I just want to say that me, and all of us at 5th Grade Gifted will remember you forever.

Mrs. Dweck is my favorite teacher and always will be. I was part of her last year of students, and attended novel writing and Math 24. In the middle of 4th grade I had to move to Indiana. Everything was fine until a friend called me and told me the sad story. I was so sad, bursting in to tears I thought about Mrs. Dweck. You will always be my favorite teacher.

I am an educator from New Jersey and I only knew Julia from Twitter. She was an inspiration and a resource for me personally. After 35 years as a teacher, I never stopped looking for stellar educators. I immediately recognized Julia as a leader among educators. Specifically during Covid, Julia provided me and 100's of other teachers with vital, on-line, deep, meaningful resources. Julia's presence was felt across the twitterverse, she left an indelible mark on the world. Thank you, Julia!

Julia was an inspiration to educators around the world, but I was blessed to call her a friend and share a classroom with her over the past year. From sharing stories about past projects, collaborating on ideas for future ideas, discussing artificial intelligence, and reciting a variety Seinfeld quotes throughout the day, Julia always had a way to keep everyone around her laughing.

My story with Julia began in April of 2016. She was taking a grad course on teaching with iPads that I was teaching (it was my first time ever doing so and I was very nervous). She greeted me right away with a huge smile and said how excited she was; I immediately felt more relaxed. Her infectious passion for education and innovation was evident right from the start.

She often joked that I should come to East Penn so we could collaborate and I had to meet another teacher who shared the exact same interests as me with the same last name because she was convinced we were brothers. Fast forward 2 years, I was just hired by the district. She was the first person to email me to congratulate me and was also the first room I visited. We talked about every idea she had and how we were going to do all these innovative projects in the coming years. When I say she was creative, I feel like I'm underselling her. She was one of the most brilliant educators I've ever been around.

Julia never went surface level on anything. She was the queen of making connections all over the globe and was an inspiration to thousands of educators. But at the heart of everything, it was her passion to make meaningful and lasting experiences for her students that was the driving force of the Julia I knew.

She was humble. She was dedicated. She was an inspiration. She was one of a kind.

She will be missed by everyone here at East Penn, but her lasting impression on education will never be forgotten. My thoughts are with her family during this difficult time.

I will always remember Julia as a meek and mild genius. She was humble and willing to share big ideas with great passion to succeed in the next creative endeavor. I will miss our conversations and will always see our collaborations as profound ways to grow together. Julia was kind and gentle, a woman to be admired.

As a retired teacher, Julia asked me to do two presentations to her class of gifted students. What an honor for me to do this for the best teacher that I have ever encountered in both my professional and personal life. Her students knew that Julia was the best. Julia's influence and legacy will never die. Thanks to Julia's family for sharing her with us.

Hello, this is Luis. I was very sad when I heard the passing of a legendary gifted teacher, Mrs. Dweck. I remember being in Willow Lane, and I knew she was a very great teacher, and even though she did not teach me, she also was teaching some of my friends, and they always told me it was fun. We all hope you rest in peace and find a good place to go to in the afterlife.

To Mrs. Dweck´s family and loved ones,
I´m so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Dweck was my daughter´s teacher for several years at Willow Lane, and she was so sincere and truly dedicated in giving her students a meaningful education. She went above and beyond for my daughter on numerous occasions, and I think my daughter has been successful in college because of Mrs. Dweck´s influence and insight during those early elementary school years. If only every child could have a teacher like Mrs. Dweck at some point in their lives, we would all be the luckiest people on Earth.
Sincerely,
Deborah S.
