Lance is laughing and joking with Shirley and Dad by now. They are the lucky ones and we will join them when the time comes. Until that day our hearts will always ache, but our loved ones and memories keep us going.

Cookie and Family: I don't know quite what to say about Lance. We started as business friends and ended as best of friends. I always considered him one of my closest and dearest friends. I truly loved the man and although he is in "paradise" I feel sorry that I won't be able to talk to him anymore. To me, he was always bigger than life. A combat Marine, a friend of the community, and a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. We only come across a few people like this in our life and I am so happy and proud to say not only did I know Lance, but that he was a friend. May God welcome him to paradise. My thoughts and prayers to you Cookie and the family. Although it hurts right now, have peace in knowing that he is HOME.

What more do you write when you lose a "good buddy" whom you have known since first grade? What do you write when the friend who always made the plans and then always made you laugh is not there to keep planning? I guess you can only recognize how fortunate you were to have been involved with such a "gem of a friend" and realize that Paradise has gained a lively, wonderful one when Lance James entered it's gates.

Cookie and Family,
When you close your eyes...FEEL all the love surrounding you from your many, many friends. As God holds you close...KNOW that Lance will always be with you.

A mere candle can't replace the light that Uncle Lance was in our world. His sense of humor, his gigantic heart, and his passion for life will hopefully inspire us to spread some light of our own. He always made me feel welcome, and I will always love him for that.

What a beautiful tribute for a wonderful man. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire James family. My mother, father and step father were all blessed to have been good friends with Lance and he will be greatly missed by many. I remember each of my parents telling me numerous "Lance" stories and they always ended with a comical twist. May he rest in peace and may all of you find comfort knowing he was loved by so many and brought many smiles, even to those of us who did not know him as well as others.
