Laura Scheirer
Laura Scheirer, 92, of Laurys Station, formerly of Red Lyon, and York PA died Thursday, October 27, 2011 in her home. Born in East Mauch Chunk, she was the daughter of the late Tobias and Rilla (Mohrey) Brosious. Laura worked as a secretary most of her life, and was once employed with the Department of Agriculture in State College, PA. With her husband, she was stationed in multiple locations throughout World War II. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star through the Towanda PA chapter. Survivors: Son, Barry Scheirer and wife Ann of McAlisterville, PA; grandchildren, Adrianna Niemond, and Brandon Scheirer; sister, Claire Knecht of Whitehall; nieces and nephews. Services: Memorial Service 10:30 a.m. Thursday November 3, 2011 St. Johns UCC Church, 15 S. Second Street, Slatington. No calling hours. Arrangements Harding Funeral Home, Slatington. Contributions: Can be made in Lauras memory to St. Johns UCC General Fund.

Just wanted to wish the family my thoughts and prayers at this time. Laura had bought my mothers' home there in Laurys. She will be missed dearly and she was a wonderful and caring lady!
