Linda Miller Obituary

Linda Susan Miller (nee Goldsmith), passed away on May 31, 2022. She was the wife of Michael R. Miller for 59 years. Born in Allentown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Helen Rockmaker Heiligman and Alfred Goldsmith. Surviving with her husband Mike are three daughters, Karen McGrane and her husband Rusty, Laurie Brotman and her husband Andrew and Amy Sams and her husband Rick, brother Phil Goldsmith and wife Essie, sister Deborah Heiligman Weiner and husband Jonathan Weiner, and five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Natalie, Caroline, Julia, and Henry. She graduated from Allentown High School, attended Penn State University, and graduated from Cedar Crest College with a BS in Education. She taught mostly second grade at the Jewish Day School for 18 years. She most enjoyed being with family and friends, walking in Trexler Park and receiving flowers from her husband. Her fondest memories were meeting Mike, seeing her three daughters born and celebrating holidays with her family. She loved to visit the Cayman Islands, Avalon, NJ, Chautauqua, NY, and Cornell University for adult education. Her proudest volunteer achievements were being President of the Congregation Keneseth Israel Board of Trustees and President of the Sisterhood. Her most important values were honesty, good work ethic and helping others not as fortunate as her. Her philosophy on life was to always look at the positive parts of her life, and always look for the best in people and compliment them on the good they do. She would like to be remembered for being a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her advice to her family is be happy and enjoy life.

Dear Mike and Children:

The world has lost a very kind and caring person. I have known Linda since elementary school. She was certainly one of the nicest people I have ever known.
Linda never said a bad word about anyone, and was always happy to stand behind you in times of trouble.

Her gentle smile would light up the room and will be missed by all her friends. May she rest in peace.

My deepest sympathies to all your family but especially to Mike. You and Linda were always so loving to each other and a joy to be around. I spent many years coming to your house to clean every week. Linda never made me feel like an employee but instead, a friend. She always showed her appreciation and positive attitude. Her love for friends and family was so evident by the fact that she never missed sending cards for all occasions to her loved ones. Mike, you were such a doting husband and always had a smile for Linda. You two were truly a wonderful couple! She will be missed.

Much love to the Miller family. Linda was one of my favorite customers. I was her hair stylist for many years and always enjoyed our time together. She was a wonderful friend to all. She will be missed. Xoxoxo

Linda was woven into the fabric of our family for almost 50 years-friend, mother of our babysitters, walking companion, teacher, temple president. And we were only one family of many whom she touched.

She spent her life giving.

Rest in peace, Linda.

I just want to express my sincere condolences on Linda´s passing. I worked in the JDS office when she taught second grade. Linda was a sweet and caring teacher and person. She was upbeat and pleasant to work with. May her memory forever be a blessing.

I knew Linda as a young girl...she had the best pony tail in 5th grade. We were later Bat Mitzvah sisters at KI. She was one of the kindest souls I have ever met. She will be missed by so so many. May her memory be a blessing to all.

We are deeply sad for the passing of Morah Linda Miller, and the whole Miller family.
Coming to Allentown 36 years ago from Israel with small kids, and registrating them to the Jewish day school and Linda z"l was the English teacher who help them to overcome the difficulties of becoming part of the JDS family, and we always thanked her for that.
As a teacher myself, I had the pleasure of teaching Hebrew to Linda s"L´s granddaughter in Muhlenberg College.
My heart and blessing to the whole Miller family for the lost of such a wonderful teacher, Mother, Grandmother and family member.
May Linda´s memory be blessed for ever.
