Margaret Feaver Obituary

Margaret R. Feaver, 97, of Bethlehem, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021, in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of the late Dr. Douglas D. Feaver, who died in April 2015. Born in Lanzhou, China, she was a daughter of the late Roy A. and Gertrude (Back) Seaman, who were missionaries to China. Margaret earned a B.S. degree in Nursing from the University of Toronto and taught nursing for three years. She and her husband Douglas were active members of First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem and Grace Church of Bethlehem since the mid-1950s, often teaching adult Sunday School classes. Margaret started a neighborhood Bible study for women in her home in the 1960s, and with her husband hosted a weekly Bible study in their home. Over the decades, hundreds if not thousands of people came through their doors and received a warm hug and encouraging teaching, and experienced healing in all dimensions of life. In the mid-1980s, Margaret and her husband joined Youth With a Mission, and co-founded the Humanities and International Studies College in YWAM's University of the Nations at the Kailua-Kona campus in Hawaii, serving until 2001. She became known as "Mother Margaret" to countless YWAMers from around the world who were touched by her love, wisdom, and devotional teachings. Margaret wrote a book of lessons gleaned from her own life stories, called "Precious Pearls." Her long marriage to Douglas was the subject of a devotional study, "One Heart, One Way."

Surviving are three sons: David, John, and Peter; a daughter, Ruth Green; fourteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters Grace and Doris, and her son Paul.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 11, at 3:00 p.m. in Grace Church Bethlehem, 521 E. Locust Street, Bethlehem, PA. It will be livestreamed and recorded via Zoom; details will be posted at https://www.gracecb.org/memorial/. Burial will be private.

To Margaret's family,
On behalf of Fellowship Community I want to send our deepest condolences over the passing of your Mom. We know that because of her faith in the Lord Jesus, she is beginning to enjoy all of those good things God has laid up in heaven for those who love him.
So even though we rejoice over her homegoing, I'm sure she will be greatly missed for a time...
May God's good comfort in Christ sustain you during these days, and may her Memorial Service be a tribute to the effectiveness of God's grace in her life.
Warmly,
Pastor Jake
Fellowship Community

Mrs. Feaver was such a delightful lady and an absolute shining light for Christ until the very day she met Him face to face. It was my absolute privilege to get to know her since she came to live at Fellowship. She was such an encouragement to me. Her love for Jesus and His Word was obviously her greatest joy, followed closely by her love of her dear family. Thank you for sharing her with us. My life was challenged and blessed. I told her once, "Mrs. Feaver, you may be tiny in stature, but you are mighty in spirit". My sincere condolences to your entire family.
