Dear Teri & family,
I am so sorry to hear about cousin Marty. I just heard the news this week. I also read all the beautiful memories other friends & family shared here in his guestbook. I remember the stories of the "garage shows" on Lumber Street & when I was a baby, you guys had a show to raise money to get a rattle for me! :) I will NEVER forget EVERYTIME Marty saw me out on the front porch, he would start singing really loud "BA BA BA BA BARBARA-ANN" by the BeachBoys!! Everytime I hear them sing that song, I think of Marty to this day & laugh. May you find comfort in the good memories & always hear your brother's laughter. Our prayers are with you.
Lots of Love, Barbie

To My Dear Brother...
I'm having a very difficult time accepting that you are gone from us. What a wonderful childhood we had together...the memories will never be forgotten. The crazy things we did as kids and most of those things carried over into adulthood. You always made me laugh; calling me at work "214" and telling me jokes even when you were not feeling the best. All those great holidays spent together - especially with mom and dad; now the 3 of you can spend your time in heaven free of pain and disease, watching over us. How ironic....that stupid check came the day after you passed...all that red tape we had to go through!! Ninon and I have become very close and we are going to carry out your wishes...EPANO TO PLAZ!! Your Celebration of Life was certainly one to be remembered...you had so many friends and everyone loved you. Even little Ethan knows you are in heaven and misses you. Don't forget our little promise....we split the lottery winnings! Take care of yourself, Mart and say hello to Mom and Dad....you will always be my "baby" brother. God Bless. Your big sister...Ter

To Marty's family: I went to high school with Marty and we clicked as friends immediately. I was drawn to his wonderful sense of humor and, most of all, the way he always laughed at himself. We were partners in Gym Club freshman year. Let's face it, we weren't that great, but we laughed all the time. We called each other sporadically over the years, even when he lived in Texas and I lived in California. We always seemed to pick up where we left off. My regret is that we lost touch when I moved to Oregon and I didn't even know he was sick. I just want you to know that I am so very sorry for your loss. Two things are for sure: I'm a much better person for having known Marty, and there will be a lot more laughter in Heaven going forward!

Dear Teri,

I am so very sorry to for the loss of your brother. After all the years that have gone by, I was so touched by your Guest Book entry for Butch after his death in May. I hope you can find at least a little comfort in knowing that others' thoughts are with you -- I know I did and still do.

May God be with you and your family.

Teri & Family:
My memory of Marty dates back when you lived at 1038 Allen St.
My dad would come and cut Marty's hair. He would have to be held in the chair by your dad, while my dad would be the "bad guy" and cut his hair.
For some reason Marty did not want his hair cut and would fight and cry everytime my dad would come to cut his hair.

Nino,
I made rack of lamb for your birthday dinner one year and Marty said it was the best he ever ate in his life. I am so glad I could give him such a small pleasure after all the hours of entertainment he gave me which I will never ever forget. I will always cherish our summers of badminton in the pool and laughing until we cried.
Not to mention the spontaneous jam sessions with Marty on the guitar. I never tired of hearing how you fell in love and how he knew you were the one for him after searching his whole life. I am so honored to have witnessed that love. Your loss is felt very deeply by all of us that were able to see his love for you. You are in my thoughts and prayers always.

Dear Teri and family: Through recent years, we haven't been able to visit our family in Pennsylvania. I was shocked to hear of Marty's death. I know what it's like to lose a brother; there's a special bond between a sister and a brother. My memories of Aunt Rita, Uncle Martin and Marty especially will remain locked in my heart forever. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless, Cousin Barb and Family.

Dear Ninon, words cannot describe how deeply saddened I (we all are) in mourning the loss of our dear, wonderful, funny-man....I met him 33 years ago in San Diego -- I told him a joke he had never forgotten; we laughed over that joke for many, many, years as it represented the beginning of a long and meaningful friendship...he comforted me when my sweet Dad drew his last breath and eased my pain when I lost my Mother only 8 months ago. I loved him so -- he was my beautiful friend, as you are...I shall pray for you...

Ninon - I am so sorry for your loss. Losing Marty is a huge loss for all of us. Marty always made everyone smile, no matter what your mood. He was a man of many talents. When ever I think of Marty, I will continue to smile and laugh, as I am sure this is what he would have wanted. Memories of Marty will always be kept in a special place in my heart. I will keep you in my heart as well as I know this is a difficult time for you and your family. Grief is tough, very tough, so go easy on yourself. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Ninon, Teri, Hans, Shannon, and Hans,
This sad news hit hard. I have so many wonderful memories of Marty from when we were young children to our adult years. I'd laugh when he'd call from Houston to practice some of his comedy material. I'll never forget the "Buzzin Cousin Show" we taped in Fernando's Hideaway! He was alway so very much fun to be around. I hope heaven is ready for his jovial arrival. May your memories ease your sorrow.
With love,
Cousin

Dear Teri, Ninon and families: When I looked at Marty's picture included with the Obiturary notice, I remembered those mischievous and fun-filled eyes. In my memories of him, I shall always recall when he was approximately 6 years old and I was 20; he was visiting Columbus along with his family. He told me very seriously that he was going to marry me when he grew up. Years later, when he came to Uncle Karl and Aunt Tess' 50th Anniversary Party, I reminded him of his promise, we both laughed and talked about old times and our present lives. My memories of Marty are treasures I carry in my heart. They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole; but, of all the treasures that I have, my memories of Marty are most precious. May your hearts be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Lots of love, XO, Cousin Joyce

Dear Ninon:

I was so shocked and saddened to learn of Marty's passing. His sense of humor and laughter was a pleasure to be around... and got me through some really rough times in my life. Marty lived and experienced more in his one life then most people could experience in ten. I will cherish our zany friendship the rest of my life and memories of our time we ran together will crack me up many many times for many years. Your imitation of Bob Dylans' song Lay Lady Lay was a classic. I will miss you my friend. Enjoy your new home. We will take care of each other here. Til we meet again.

July 19, 2009

Dear Teri and family, I don't have the words to express our sorrow for the loss of Marty. I have such great childhood memories of our visits to Allentown. I wish we could have gotten that trip organized. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Marty will be greatly missed. Hang in there, keep your Faith. With deepest sympathy and love, Terry and family
