I have many fond memories of Strz from the time I worked with her at Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was not only my sounding board but mentor who guided me with her knowledge, wisdom and sense of humor through my first tough months as a new head nurse. She was one of our favorite "card sharks" known to party and play all night long at the infamous holiday parties at Miss Brown's house! She was a great lady and a tribute to the nursing porfession. I feel privileged to have known Strz. My thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.

To the Family of "Strez",
I first met Mary in the 70's, I was starting my 1st day in ICU @ SHH, new nothing about ICU, worked in Labor & Delivery. Mary was covering for the manager who was stranded in Switzerland due to an avalanche. After introducing herself to me, she pointed to a gentleman in one of the cubicles and said here's your patient. I looked at the patient who had more tubes and wires attached to him than I ever could imagine. I then looked at Mary and said to her, didn't they tell you I come from the world of OB, I know bear down & push. I haven't a clue what all of this is about. She calmly told me she would teach me all I needed to know, and teach me she did. One of my best and favorite mentors, a class act.
God bless you all during this difficult time, and know, if there's an ICU in heaven, Mary will be in charge of it.

I first met your loved one in the early 70's when we were both working at SHH. She was a wonderful nurse and I loved working with and for her at SHH and LVH. She was also a lot of fun to be with. May your wonderful memories of her sustain you at this very difficult time.

To family,
Sorry for your loss -- she will be missed from here as well. Aunt Mary held a bright spot in my heart since I first met her when Uncle Tom brought her to visit us (The Stoudt's) in Florida - late 80s.

God's best to you in this time and may you remember all the good times...

Your Mother/Grandmother interviewed and hired me for my very first job as a Nurse. She was my first Nursing Supervisor. "Strz", as we fondly called her, was a strong and wonderful leader, a true role model. May her memory be eternal.

I was so sorry to read of your mom's passing. My dad passed away in 1979 - I was the oldest of five, the youngest being 3 yrs old - your mom was working at what was known as "ASH" at the time - when she got word through my dear friend Belle Ann of what we were going through, your mom came right up to be with us and was our rock. I will never forget that.

Keeping all of Mary's loves and friends in our prayers as you start this part of the journey.

To my dear Bob and all her sons,
My deepest sympathy. The love and respect always expressed by you to your mother says so much about her as a person and the kind of mother she was. May you find Mom's strength in you to get through this time of loss and may she be at peace.
