Melva Jarvis
Melva May Jarvis, 83, of Saylorsburg, passed away Jan. 31 at home. Born in Ira, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Fleet and Rebecca (Jarvis) Duffield. She was the wife of the late Sherman Jarvis. Survivors: Six children, Phyllis Jarvis of Pen Argyl, Doris Brands and her husband Richard of Bangor, Velma Branham, Wanda Bush, and Brenda Bender and her husband Robert all of Wind Gap, Dallas Jarvis of Saylorsburg; sisters, Emma Jarvis of Sutton, West Virginia, Ina Smith of Spencer, West Virginia; four grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. Services: Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, in Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Route 209, Gilbert, with Rev. Larry Gasteiger officiating. Viewing will be held 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday in the funeral home. Interment, Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville.
