Michael "Mike" Beruta, Jr., 70, of Bushkill Twp., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, January 25, 2019 in his home. He was the loving husband of Denise (Kohl) Beruta. They would have celebrated 50 years of wonderful marriage on August 16, 2019. Mike was born June 1, 1948 in Phillipsburg, NJ, to the parents of the late Michael Beruta Sr. and Elizabeth (Vasquez) Beruta, of Lopatong Twp. He was a 1966 graduate of Phillipsburg High School. After graduation, at the age of 17, Michael started working at Shop Rite in Washington, NJ while attending Churchman Business School. He also worked at the Easton, PA location and eventually retired as the Assistant Store Manager of the Hillsborough, NJ location after 43 years. Mike loved traveling and fishing. He was a sports enthusiast and helped coach little league. He was an avid Packers, Phillies and Flyers fan. He enjoyed watching TV shows American Pickers and Alaska Off the Grid. Mike's life was abundantly centered around Family, Friends and Food. In addition to Michael's wife and mother, he will be deeply missed by daughter, Melissa Kline and her husband Terry, of Bushkill Twp., sons, Todd Beruta and his wife Sarah, of Moore Twp., Trevor Beruta and his wife Karen, of Bushkill Twp. Also by grandchildren, Victoria, Alexis and Colton Kline, Tanner, Chase and Kennedy Beruta, Reagan, Jack and Isabelle Beruta. Brothers, Frank Beruta and his wife Patricia, Terry Beruta and sister, Joanne Keller. He was pre-deceased by brother, Daniel Beruta and sister, Janet Olah. Calling hours will be held for family and friends on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 in the Joseph F. Reichel Funeral Home Inc., 220 Washington Park, Nazareth, PA 18064 from 5:00-8:00 PM and Wednesday, January 30, from 9:00-10:00 AM, followed by a Prayer Service at 10:00 AM presiding Fr. Gregory Dudash. Burial will held in Hope Cemetery, of Hecktown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John's the Baptist Orthodox Church in care of the funeral home. Mike was absolutely the best manager I ever had at Easton Shop Rite, and will forever be in my memories. We would fight daily, yet it was always in a joking way. My husband and I both had the pleasure of working with him, and we will both always hold fond memories in our hearts.
