Dearest Jen, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart and prayers go out to you and the family. This is a great loss. I will always remember you at the big MO., especially when you would come to the office with a smile and your class or even to make phone calls for you to speak in spanish to those parents who didn't speak english. You are missed. Again my sympathy and prayers go out to the family.

Billy , Kay and family: I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your son, Michael. I got a phone call from Louisanna from your mother (my cousin) telling me of the sad news. No parent should have to bear such sorrow. I will surely keep you and your family in my prayers.

Jennifer,
We were deeply saddened to hear of Mike's passing. We remember running into the two of you at the Giant on Emmaus Ave almost every weekend around the time our oldest was just a baby (5+ yrs ago). Barry also remembers playing lots of pick-up basketball games with Mike at various parks and at the church gym they rented on Saturdays. Mike used to challenge Barry to see which of them could jump higher. Please know that your family is in our thoughts & prayers.

To the entire Fritz Family-
I can remember growing up together with Mike...from Dodd through Dieruff. He was always the kid who never had a mean word for anyone, and even if he didn't have a smile on his face, his eyes seemed to smile anyway. I am so very, sincerely sorry for your loss...but I am absolutely honored that my children are lucky enough to grow up knowing his family.

To everyone that has sent us prayers and best wishes, we thank you. I am Jennifer's mother and she has so much pain from this loss. Michael was a remarkable son-in-law, so helpful, so funny and so good to our daughter. We loved him like a son. His smile will be forever in our hearts. I will always be grateful to Michael for the love he gave our beautiful girl, for the understanding he showed her and for the devotion to her. Jennifer is so lost without him as is the whole family. Please be comforting and remember Michael for all the good things you all have listed. I will remember Michael for the cookies he ate before dinner, for the rock garden he made me and for all the times I called him when my husband and I needed a Mr. Fixit. My husband was close to Michael and they did many projects together. Michael was not afraid to try anything. But most of all I am grateful for having known him and for all the love he showed everyone especially my daughter. God Bless my son-in-law. May God wrap him in love and give him peace.

I want to express my deepest sympathy to Mike's family. As you already know, he was a wonderful man. Mike had a special way of balancing strength and tenderness.

He will be greatly missed. Some of the things I will miss about Mike are his Steelers apparel, wearing shorts in the middle of winter, great sense of humor and the way that his face lit up every time that he spoke about Jennifer.

Mike brought much love and joy to this world.

Being Jay Brey's older sister I can remember Mike, a.k.a. "Fritz" as being a constant fixture at our house. It was like having a third brother. Those two were always together and oh the laughter! I will always remember Mike's laugh! He had his own unique laugh and when he got going his whole body would start to shake, starting with his shoulders. It was funny sometimes just to watch and listen to him laugh. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Jennifer and the entire Fritz family. I pray that you will find peace and comfort during this difficult time. May you take comfort in knowing that "the God of all comfort, comforts us in all our troubles..." 2 Corinthians 1:3b-4a.

Mike was a valued employee at CSF Buxmont. He was admired by coworkers and students alike. Mike was dedicated to helping change the lives of at-risk youth. Mike is a unsung hero in the hearts of many kids.

What I remember most about Mike was are fun banter we had regarding football. Mike and I were both involved in fantasy football leagues and we always talked about our teams. I would also talk about the better PA team....Eagles...but Mike always had a response of "how many superbowls have the Steelers won??" It would always shut me up.

You will be greatly missed. My heart and prayers go out to Mike's family....I am sorry for your loss.

I have many fond memories playing softball on our Church team with Mike for a few years. Mostly of him going all out trying to catch my bad throws to him at first base, or hustling to make an over the shoulder catch in foul territory.
I'm sorry I didn't get to know him better and get to enjoy his friendship off the field as well. May God bless all of Mike's family and friends as they journey through this very hard time of loss.

My deepest sympathy, prayers and support to the Fritz family. I worked with Mike at the Bethlehem school, he Shawn and I were "team partners" for most of my years there. I can't think of a single memory of my time at CSF that doesn't include Mike. He loved his family, his dogs and the Steelers very much. The world has lost a truly wonderful man who was such an inspiration to countless people, both teens and adults alike. He will be missed.

Mike Walker

February 8, 2009

I worked with Mike for the past several years. He took his work seriously and made a difference in many teenagers lives. There were countless reasons to love Mike. One that identified my friendship with him was how we had fun together. It was common to go outside and throw snowballs at each other. Just the other week he 'vandalized' my car so, of course, I had to get him back. We would disrupt our staff meetings with jokes and poking fun at one another. Mike was a very loyal friend and I appreciate ALL he did for me. I miss him greatly. May the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort richly bless you with peace and strength.

The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid? Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:1, 14

Mike was the best friend anyone could ever hope to have growing up. He and I first met in little league, when we were in the second grade, and we were inseperable, especially during our teenage years and early twenties. Whenever something happened to one of us it also happened to the other. People would always say "Mike and Jay" this or "Jay and Mike" that, never just one or the other. We went to school together from third grade through our sophomore year at Penn State, often taking the same classes. We worked, played, laughed and cried together through good times and bad. As I drove through Allentown yesterday every street and intersection had a story of fun times spent with "Fritz", as he was known to his friends. Every park, store and restaurant I passed holds a memory and every memory brings a smile to my face and a fondness of days gone by to my heart. Mike was kind, caring, considerate, loving, trustworthy, friendly, hard working, dedicated, self sacrificing, loyal, and a great friend. The product of a loving family, and goodness he displayed in his life is a testimony to that love. He will be greatly missed and I consider myself privileged to have grown up with such a great friend, and to have been so close to him for so long. My thoughts and prayers are with Jennifer and the entire Fritz family. May God bless you and fill you with a peace that passes all understanding as you mourn such a terrible loss. I take comfort in Romans 8:28 which tells us "we can know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God". My prayer is that you find comfort as well. And though it is difficult to see what possible good can come from so terrible a tragedy, I know that great good came from Mike's life and the time he spent with us. He made a difference for good in so many lives, too many to count, especially in the lives of the young people he chose to work with. I know he made a difference in my life.

Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Fritz family.
I've had the pleasure to know Mike for most of my life. Starting way back with Little League Baseball, high school, basketball in the summers and up to our days as roomates at Penn St. Even though we've lost touch over the years, I will always cherish the good times we had, your smile and your good hearted nature.
Mike, you left this world way too soon my friend may you rest in peace.
