Michael D. McFarland, 64, of Allentown passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 in St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Linda (Burian) McFarland. They celebrated 32 years of marriage. Born in Portland ME, he was a son of Elizabeth (Kuhns) McFarland and the late Cecil McFarland. Michael was a respected firefighter in the Allentown Fire department for 25 years retiring as a Lieutenant in 2008. Previously he was employed by the New Jersey Zinc Company, Friedensville Mine for 6 years. Survivors: wife, Linda; mother, Elizabeth; brother Patrick and wife Lori; sister Pamela Phillips and husband Michael; brother-in-law Dennis Burian and partner Nancy Snyder; sister-in-law Debra Burian and partner Michael Makosky; former sister-in law Betsy Burian; nephews Matthew McFarland and wife Santina, Kyle McFarland, Patrick Phillips and wife Denise, Douglas Burian and wife Medessa; nieces Kelly Bowen and husband Giffin, Samantha McFarland and Melissa Burian; 5 great nephews and 4 great nieces He was predeceased by a brother Robert. Services: A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, July 13, 2016 Trexler Funeral Home 1625 W, Highland St., Allentown Calling hours will begin at 1:00 pm. I met him at Cecil's funeral in Florida.
