Miriam G. Szanyi,89,passed away on April 17, 2023 in Plainfield, IL. Born in Bellaire, OH, and growing up in Greensburg, PA, she was a 1954 graduate of Otterbein College, and a life member of Phi Sigma Iota international foreign language honorary society. She was employed as a middle school teacher in Park Forest, IL, and later moved to Bethlehem, PA, where she was employed by Rodale Press as Assistant Editor of Prevention Magazine. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, and was a past president of the Bethlehem branch of American Association of University Women.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Szanyi, in 1999. She is survived by her 3 sons: Dan (Christina)Welty, Alan (Emily)Welty, and Neil (Sue)Szanyi, and daughter Monica (Steve) Rodgers. She is also survived by 7 grandsons.

A memorial service will be held 11 AM on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem.
