Oliva Stryker Obituary
Oliva L. Stryker, 101, of Bethlehem went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. She was the wife of the late Wallace P. Stryker of Gilboa, NY. Born in Corning, NY, she was a daughter of the late Oliver and May Belle (Kiff) Lamb. She earned her BA from Cornell University, and her MA from Middlebury College. Survivors: She is survived by her three sons, including Lynden Stryker and his wife Janet of Bethlehem. Services: A Memorial Service in Gilboa, NY, will be announced later. Oliva was one of the most cheerful persons I have ever known. She faithfully attended services at St. Thomas UCC when I was the supply pastor there. She always wore such attractive clothes with matching purse, shoes, and gloves. We connected again when she attended the Protestant services I led at Holy Family Manor on Friday afternoons. She exhibited such a wonderful Christian faith in spite of her disappointments and disabilities. God bless her family.
