Raymond Clausnitzer Obituary

Raymond R. Clausnitzer, 80 years, of Fogelsville, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. He was the husband of Elissa (Sisia) Clausnitzer for 55 years this May. Born in Woodbridge, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert and Julia (Furman) Clausnitzer.

He was a machinist for Exxon Mobil for 25 years. Raymond was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Orefield. He honorably served his county in the United States Navy and was a member of the Tin Can Soldiers, which is the name of the National Assoc. of Destroyer Veterans.

Raymond was an avid fisherman who loved nothing more than to kick back with a fishing pole and a cold beer. He never had an unkind word to say about anyone and if you were blessed enough to have met him you were instantly put at ease by his kind, warm, and laid-back demeanor. EVERYBODY loved Raymond.

The most remarkable thing about him though was his heart. The immense love he has for his family, wife, kids, and grandkids, showed through his piercing blue eyes and his infectious smile. He showed up for every event and endeavor and was such a proud father and grandfather. That was his biggest joy, family. He will be missed beyond comprehension. Heaven is blessed to have gained such an Angel.

Survivors: wife, Elissa, daughter, Carlene Wood (Steven) of England, sons, Robert Clausnitzer (Elizabeth) of Center Valley and Raymond Clausnitzer (Charlene) of Palmer Twp., grandchildren, Max, Christian, Brandon, Cassidy, Raymond, and Sarah.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 6 at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1879 Applewood Dr., Orefield. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery. Arrangements by Keller Funeral Home, Fogelsville. Face masks will be required, and social distancing will occur. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.KellerFuneralHomes.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Topton American Legion, c/o the Funeral Home, PO Box 52, Fogelsville, 18051.

I met Ray,as tool makers, in 1970, at a plastics company in BerkeleyHeights N.J. He was like a brother to me. We both moved on to EXXONMOBIL ,in 1977, working there until our retirement. “Everyone really loved Raymond.”
