Richard Correll Obituary

Richard Lee "Rich" Correll, 55, of North Whitehall Township died Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Deana L. (Long) Correll to whom he was married 22 years. Born in Allentown, August 8,1966, Richard was the son of Frances A. (Shellhammer) Correll of North Whitehall Township and the late Stanley J. Correll. He was a Master Plumber working in the Allentown School District for the last 27 years. Prior to that, he worked for Modern Plumbing in Emmaus and Koren Plumbing in Neffs. An avid outdoorsman, Richard was a life member of the Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club in New Tripoli and the Copeechan Fish & Game Club in Schnecksville. He was a co-owner of Ye Olde Slaughter House Camp in Overton Twp., Bradford County. His love of baseball started in his high school years at Parkland and continued to the North Parkland Legion under the director of Coach Terry Stoudt who then coached his son, Ryan. Richard took great satisfaction in coaching his son and other local youth athletes. In 2013, Rich had the privilege to participate and coach Ryan on the BK Brawlers team at Cooperstown Dreams Park Tournament. Richard was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.

Survivors: In addition to his wife and mother; son, Ryan S. Correll and his girlfriend, Brooke L. Glenn of North Whitehall Township; brother, James S. Correll of Downingtown; father-in-law, Donald D. Long (Carol) of Lake Alfred, FL; sister-in-laws, Denise Miller (Chad) of Slatington, Dana Schaeffer of Slatington, Danielle Werley of Melbourne, FL, Dora Hoffman (Jason) of Slatington, Dorcas Marsh (Kevin) of Lehighton; brother-in-laws, Donald T. Long (Annette) Auburndale, FL, Dennis Long (Shelly) of Slatington, Duane Long (Asimo) of Slatington, Dathan "DJ" Long (Jess) of Germansville, Darryl Long (Jay) of Polk City, FL, Douglas Long (Jessica) of Slatington, Dustin Long of Lake Alfred, FL, Derek Long (Katie) of Slatington, Darrin "Munch" Long (Marybeth) of Slatington; many nieces and nephews; predeceased by mother-in-law, Shirley A. (Mowery) Long and brother-in-law, Brian E. Werley.

Service: Funeral services will be held 11:00 am. Monday, December 27, 2021 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Kayli L. Freeman officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Sunday and 10:00 – 11:00 am. Monday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Union U.C.C. Memorial Fund c/o the funeral home, P.O. Box # 196, Schnecksville, PA 18078-0196.

So so sad just talked to him at Ellie Kistler´s viewing shared some memories we had together, very likable person Rich did my plumbing 21 year´s ago. I first met him through one of his best friends Rodney Kistler who is my cousin in law by my previous marriage. Rich was one of those people that when you walked away from him, your heart just smiled. He always had a great hunting story to share and was truly a genuine soul. Deana, Ryan & family,
