Richard Heckman Obituary
Rich's children remember him as a father with a strict heart of gold who made sure they were all strong, self-reliant people while encouraging them to pursue their goals. He was known for his sense of humor and known as the ultimate "dad joke" guy. I'm sure wherever he is, he is asking everyone to "pull my finger".
Richard served in the US Army, Armor, 1st 33rd Battalion (1971-1974) and received a Hardship discharge to come back home and take care of his abandoned children. He was accomplished at all home repair and improvements and was a home painter by trade. He loved helping his family and friends turn their houses into homes. He was a loving and stubborn individual who was known for singing karaoke at pubs, parties and at home with family.
Richard is survived by wife, Karen Heckman; children, BobbyJo Bloom, Tracey-Lee Heckman, Richard D. Heckman Jr, Jenny-Lynn Cool, Paul Heckman, Melissa Kucharik, Ronald Darhower Jr, Sheri Hamm; siblings, Sharon Heckman, Sandra Stewart; grandchildren, Samantha Bloom, Max Bloom; Joseph Santos, Nick Santos, Jack Santos, Katelynn Braker, David Cool III, Jade-Amber Cool, Emily Kucharik, Madeline Hamm, Isabella Hamm, Ansleigh Darhower; great-grandchildren, Teigan Santos, Isabella Cool; and aunt, Lana McCarthy. Richard is preceded in death by his father, Earl Daniel Heckman, mother, Vilma (Nagy) Heckman and siblings, Donna Soto, Earl "Butchie" Heckman.
Rich wishes to spend eternity among his children, so his ashes will be held onto by them. The Richard Heckman Memorial Facebook page will remain open and all are welcome to post memories and final words to him there. Condolences can be sent to https://www.facebook.com/RichHeckmanMemoral.
