Richard Steven Girard Keen
Richard (Dick) S. G. Keen, 86 of South Dennis, NJ (formerly of Bethlehem, PA) passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Waneita R (McNulty) Keen for nearly 64 years. Born in Allentown on December 13, 1923 he was the son of the late Arthur and Salome (Gamby) Keen. Dick worked as a truck driver for 30 years for Shirks, Norwalk and Yellow. He served in the Navy during World War II as a plane captain aboard the USS WASP CV18. He raced stock cars at Dorney Park during the 50s and was considered the driver to beat. Dick was a life long member and past commander of the VFW Post 5343, member and plank owner of the USS WASP organization, and a member of the American Legion. He was an avid NASCAR and Eagles fan, loved traveling and enjoyed gardening, hunting, and deep sea fishing. Survivors: loving wife; sons, Richard C and wife Denise; Robert A and wife Cheryl; daughter, Gwenda L Adams; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy. He was predeceased by brothers, Tom and Art. Services: 11 am Tuesday, June 1 at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave., Cape May Court House, NJ. Call Tuesday, June 1, 10 to 11 am. Burial with military honors will follow at the Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House Contributions: In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the family.
