Robert G. Ambers
Robert G. Ambers, 79 years, of Center Valley, formerly of Germansville, died Wednesday, November 2, 2005 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Bernice (Beidler) Ambers. The couple celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary last December 9. Born in Ambler, Montgomery County, Robert was the son of the late John and Helen (Dotts) Ambers. He was employed as a construction supervisor for FMC Corp., Chalfont, for 12 years before retiring. Prior to that, he owned and operated the former Germansville Hotel and worked for the former Western Electric, Allentown, as a glass blower. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the Navy during World War II as a Boatswains Mate 2nd Class. Survivors: Wife; daughters, Janice E. Charles of Phoenix, Arizona, Sharon K. Rodriguez and her husband, David, of Whitehall and Sandra L. Brinckman and her husband, Kevin, of Zionsville; grandchildren, Brandy, Amber, Michael, Jeffrey and Eric; great-grandchildren, Darby and Connor. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, November 05, 2005 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Call 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Friedensville Cemetery, Upper Saucon Township. Online memorial tributes may be made at: www.heintzelmanfh.com. Please omit flowers.

Please accept my condolences at this difficult time. I have many fond and fun memories of "Uncle Bob." I spent many days having sometimes lunch and supper at the Germansville Hotel and truly miss the great food!! He is at peace!!

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Bob's friends anf family. I remember Bob when he owned Germansville Hotel and have fond memories of him and his family. Rest assured he is in a better place and will be missed greatly.
