Robert J. Calhoun
Robert J. Calhoun, 81, husband of Jean C. (Magee) Calhoun for 52 years, of Zionsville, died May 23, 2007 in his home. Born in Bryn Mawr, he was a son of the late George W. and Mary E. (Glase) Calhoun. He was a purchasing agent for the former Philadelphia Air Transport Company, Norristown, for more than 20 years retiring in 1983 and was a volunteer certified conductor for the Blue Mountain and Reading Railroads. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a 1950 graduate of Penn State with a bachelor of science degree in horticulture and a 1944 graduate of Haverford High School. He was a member of the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center, the Goschenhoppen Historians, the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Chapter 76 Timekeepers Association and a life member of the National Rifle Association. Survivors: Wife; children, Robert M. Calhoun and his wife, Carol, of Forest Hill, Md., James A. Calhoun of Hosensack and Janet E., wife of David A. Getz of Warwick, N.Y.; grandsons, Daniel and Timothy Getz. Services: private. Arrangements, Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville. Contributions: To Animals in Distress, 5075 Limeport Pike, Coopersburg, PA 18036.

Having met Mr. Calhoun only once, my family was greatly impressed by his zest for life and the stories that went with his exceptional life!

My condolences go out to family...
Jerry as we all knew him, grew up in the summer time hanging out at the Hosensack store which my father had owned for forty years... we always had good time and there are
a lot of fond memories, may he rest in peace.

So Sorry about the passing of Mr. Calhoun...my husband and I just in the last 3 years got to know Robert thru meetings at Lower Milford Twsp,he was a honest and loving man that strongly supported the LMRA, we always enjoyed talking to him. He will be missed by all of us in Lower Milford
