Robert W. Ace Conover Jr., 72, formerly of Bethlehem and Daytona Beach, Florida, died Wednesday, September 7, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Robert W. Sr. and Josephine (Kresge) Conover. He was an internal mail carrier for Bethlehem Steel Corp. before retiring and was later employed by Daytona International Speedway. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Advent Moravian Church, when he resided in Bethlehem. Survivors: Two daughters, Cathy Popp and her husband, Michael, of Clifton Heights, and Robin Hannemann and her husband, Steve, of Cocoa, Florida; two sons, Robert III and his wife, Dottie, of Easton, and Scott and his wife, Rebecca, of Clermont, Florida; two brothers, Donald of Bethlehem and Barry in North Carolina; grandchildren, Melissa and Michael Popp, Stephen and Michelle Hannemann and Donata Conover; and his ex-wife, Geraldine Conover of Bethlehem. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 14 in Advent Moravian Church. Arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Bethlehem. Contributions: May be sent to the church, 3730 Jacksonville Road, Bethlehem, 18017.

Bob was like another dad to me. We worked together for a couple of years at the speedway. He was my best friend during that time and it broke my heart when I found out he passed. I realize his passing was 17 years ago but I still think of him.

Bob was the kindest most kindhearted man i have met.I worked with Bob at the speedway for many years.He lit me day up when he would come around the corner, its just not going to be the same.We miss Bob and love him.

Bob will be missed, my husband and I knew him from Daytona USA, we were out there every Sunday, my husband works for a milk Co. and we would bring Bob his favorite little bottles of Gustafsons Chocolate milk.

His friendly smile always added to our visit, everyone seemed to like him,as much as we did,God Bless Him.

I am so saddened about the loss of Bob. I express my deepest sympathies. He was a great man and a great friend. I used to work with him in Daytona Beach at the speedway and help him out at his home with computer problems. I will sincerely miss him.

My wife Zelda and I were very close friends of Bob(the mayor) when he lived at Hickory Hills and when he moved to Port Orange. We cosidered him one of our very closest friends and we will miss him very much.
