Robert Frankenfield
Robert E. Frankenfield, 92, of Hanover Township, died Friday, November 11, 2005, in St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Helen E. (Nicholas) Frankenfield for 68 years. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. He worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 40 years before retiring in 1976 as a safety engineer. He served on the Hanover Township and Bethlehem Area school boards for 14 years from 1960 to 1973 and was active in local politics. He was a lifelong member of Cathedral Church of the Nativity, Bethlehem, where he served on the vestry. He was a former board member and volunteer for Meals on Wheels. His hobbies included collecting political buttons, hiking, bird watching and the American Civil War. Born in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late Elvin and Rosa (Beers) Frankenfield. Survivors: Wife; son, Thomas R. Frankenfield and his wife Judy of McPherson, Kansas. Services: memorial, 11 a.m. Wednesday, Cathedral Church of the Nativity, 321 Wyandotte St., Bethlehem. Arrangements, Pearson Funeral Home, Bethlehem. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, to Meals on Wheels, 4240 Fritch Drive, Bethlehem 18020 or to the church 18015.
