Robert Long Obituary

Robert H. Long
Robert H. Long, 93, died Monday, September 6, 2010 at the VNA St. Lukes Hospice in Bethlehem, PA. Born in Trenton, NJ and raised in Allentown. Robert graduated from William Allen High School. As one of the Greatest Generation he served as Captain in the Army Air Corps in World War II flying A26 planes over France and Germany. Robert resided in Allentown and retired in 1982 from his company of 30 years, RHL, Inc. He was predeceased by his wife, Cecelia M. (Zeiner) Long. Roberts passion for golf, gardening and Robert Parker novels filled his time, as well as previously volunteering at the Allentown-Sacred Heart Hospital. Survivors: Carol A. Ridler, of Lewes, DE, Robin Mayer of New York City, Robert P. Long of Bethlehem; and his seven grandchildren. Services: Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2010 in the Cathedral of St. Catherines of Siena, 18th & Turner Sts. Allentown. No visitation. Entombment, Grandview Cemetery on Walbert Avenue in Allentown. Arrangements, Robert C. Weir Funeral Home, 18th & Turner Sts., Allentown. Contributions: In lieu of flowers please make donations to your local hospice.
