Robert Stout Obituary

Dr. Robert D. Stout
Dr. Robert D. Stout, 97, of Bethlehem died on December 18, 2012 at Moravian Village of Bethlehem. He was husband of the late Elizabeth V. (Alwein) Stout. Robert was born in Reading, son of the late of Harry and Anna (Guldin) Stout. He was Dean Emeritus at Lehigh University, where he was served in various capacities for 70 years. Survivors: Companion, Grace Terry of Moravian Village; daughter, Elizabeth Stout (Hollis Giammatteo) and her life partner, Dana Blue of Seattle, WA. Predeceased by sister, Betty Griffiths. Services: Memorial service, on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Moravian Village of Bethlehem, 526 Wood Street, Bethlehem. A second service will be held at Lehigh University in mid-January. Funeral arrangements by John F. Herron Funeral Home and Herron Crematory, Bethlehem. Contributions: Good Samaritan Fund at Moravian Village of Bethlehem; Wildlands Conservatory, c/o land preservation of Emmaus, PA; or Lehigh University-Dr. Robert D. Stout Professorship Fund, Office of Development, Alumni Building, Bethlehem, PA 18015.

My sympathy to Dr. Stout's family. I was a student of his and we stayed in touch over the years. Dr. Stout will be missed by many.

Dear Liz/Hollis,
So sorry to read of your father's passing. I chatted with him at Moravian Village a couple of years ago and he was as gracious as ever in his quiet way. He had a long and excellent life.
