Robert A. Wehr

Robert A. Wehr, 85, of Schnecksville, Pa and formerly of Summit Hill, entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 17, 2022 in the Phoebe Allentown Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Jane R. (Bilka) Wehr who passed away December 08, 1993. Born in Summit Hill, he was a son of the late Leighton and Ruth (Hawk) Wehr. He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean War.He was employed by the USPS as a mail carrier in Summit Hill until retiring. He was a graduate of Summit Hill Class of 1954. He was a member of Summit Hill American Legion for 53 years. Robert was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Lehigh Valley Zoo. He also loved spending time with his family especially attending his grandchildren's sporting events and his granddaughter's theater productions.

Surviving are a daughter Cathy Sweeney and her husband Jack of Schnecksville, Pa; a sister Evelyn Plechavy of Palmerton brothers James Wehr and his wife Dorothy of Florida and Thomas Wehr and his wife Gwen of Orwigsburg, PA;; grandchildren Kale Sweeney and his wife Lauren and Mallory Sweeney and her husband Eric Schmieder; great granddaughters Rhyan and Charlotte Schmieder; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by brothers Russell, Frank, Donald, and John.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 29, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 123 W. White St., Summit Hill, Pa 18252 with Pastor Jamie Possinger officiating. Military interment will be held in GAR Cemetery, Summit Hill. Family will receive friends Friday morning 10-11:00 A.M. in the church.
