Ronald Silfies Obituary

Ronald J. Silfies
Ronald J Silfies, 62, of Bethlehem, died on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 in the Hospice House of the V.N.A. of St. Lukes, Bethlehem. Ron was born in Allentown, son of Joann M. (Berzkovits) Silfies of Bethlehem and the late Charles S. Silfies. Ron is the loving husband of Sharon L. (McNevin) Silfies. They celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary this last December. Ron was the distribution center manager of United Industries for 11 years in Allentown. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was 1965 graduate of Notre Dame High School and attended Moravian College and North Carolina State University. Ron was an avid golfer. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Survivors: Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sharon L. (McNevin) Silfies of Bethlehem; his mother, Joann Marie (Berzkovits) Silfies of Bethlehem; sons, Sean T. Silfies and his wife, Kelly, of Jim Thorpe and Scott R. Silfies and his wife, Jami, of Williams Township; daughter, Kristen Ann Silfies of New York City, N.Y.; two brothers, Dennis M. Silfies of Bethlehem and Timothy R. Silfies of Clearwater, Fla.; four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, a sister, Brenda Roland, and a brother, John C. Silfies. Services: Mass of Christian Burial, will be held in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Road, Bethlehem, 18020 on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 11 a.m. Friends may call in the church from 10-11 a.m. Burial following Mass in St. Philip and St. James Cemetery, Greenwich Township, Warren County, N.J. I am very sorry to hear of Ron's passing. I worked for Ron at Binney & Smith as a consultant and later I was a vendor for him at Rodale Press. He was a nice guy, very kind and soft-spoken. Godspeed friend.
