Dear Schatz family,
The world is a little darker now without the light Mr. Schatz shared with us.
He was the first person to ever "get" me and encourage me to be me. He was the best teacher, not just of art, but of life. He was truly one of those people in your life that you could never ever forget.
May his light shine on in all of you!
Sam and Amy and the rest of his loving family.
My thoughts are with you.

Dear Schatz family,
Mr. Schatz (Sam) was one of the only people in my life to give me the encouragement to be me!
He was the best teacher ever. Full of life and hope and fun.
I am sure he is shining down on us still.
My deepest sympathies to Sam, Amy and the rest of the family.

I never met Mr Schatz, but I know his daughter Amanda, and she spoke very highly of him. He helped raise some incredible children; that alone is a significant mark on the world.

Dear John,
Our sincere sympathy to you and your entire family in the loss of Sam.
Memories will always be with us of our days when Mr. Schatz was our
Art Teacher at Bangor High School. Everyone looked forward to Art Class ...his presentations were interesting and class participation always 100% and I am sure all students enjoyed and learned much from him during those few years at BHS.
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

Dear Ginny & family....I can count on the fingers of one hand the
people who were the best infuences in my life, and Sam is one
of the earliest. As my art teacher at BHS, and my private art
teacher, he showed his compassion, expertise, understanding,
and insights not only into art, but also into what makes people
tick. I will always be thankful for having had the opportunity to
know him and to learn so many things from him .

To Ginny and Family,
Sam will be missed always. His ready wit, dry humor, and endless creativity will remain. He selflessly shared his creativity and talent and will be remembered by all those lives he touched. My thoughts and prayers go out to you Ginny and to your family.

Dear Mrs. Schatz,
My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family over the loss of a wonderful man, my art teacher Mr. Schatz.
I want to thank you for allowing me to introduce myself to you and Mr. Schatz while you were dining at Perkins Restaurant in Bethlehem, this past summer. I had not seen Mr. Schatz since my teenage years at Broughal back in 1978. Even though I knew Mr. Schatz wouldn’t remember me after all these years, I felt I had to at least, acknowledge him and let him know what a great art teacher he was.
It is with great sadness that I write these words of sympathy, in memory of Mr. Schatz. However, in my heart I am content that I was able to greet him and personally tell him what a great art teacher he was to me. I hope it made him happy to learn that one of his students from many-many years ago still remembered him!
Mrs. Schatz, I want to tell you that you also showed me something really special that evening. You showed me how much you loved and cared for your husband and how attentive you were to him in my presence. It was a pleasure meeting you.
Sincerely,
