Scott McGuinness Obituary

It is with great sadness the family of Scott A. McGuinness announce his passing. Scott McGuinness through his 53 years amassed many friends and broadened his family. This 1981 Dieruff High School graduate spent over thirty years in the beef packing industry and had a love for cooking for his friends and family. He was currently a plumbing specialist at Lowes in Charlotte County, Florida. This guy could fix anything! He was the son of Carolyn (Connie) McGuinness and her late husband James Bruce McGuinness. Scott McGuinness was larger than life. Over the years, we have lost so many good south side veterans and Scott just adds to the fallen US Marines. He served his country proud. Semper Fi my brother. We love you and we will all miss you. Survivors: He was the husband of Marilyn Blair McGuinness with whom he shared just six short months of marriage. He loved his bride. This vibrant man leaves his sons Bryan, Christopher, and Joseph. He leaves his daughter Amanda and grandchildren. Scott leaves also his step children Nicholas and Brittany. He shared his short 53 years on this earth with his beloved brother Robert of New York, his sisters Karen and Sandra of Pennsylvania; and his sister Barbara of Massachusetts. Services: Services are private. Contributions: At the request of the family, please donate to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association as we mourn the loss of our loved one. So sorry to see of Scott's passing. I hung out with him back in the day along with Heiserman boys. He was a gentleman then (although we were quite young) and see that he remained steadfast.

I thought of Scott often and tried to reach out to him to let him know he was one of a kind, unfortunately, I never got to tell him. May he rest in peace.

Mcguinness' and his extended family,I'm so sorry to hear about Scott leaving us.
It's been many years but everyone says it best when they mention his laugh. That's what I can still hear after all these years. I know all of you will never forget either.
I'm sure Pop's is waiting with open arms.

Brother this broke my heart ... I lost a dad and two husbands. Losing you really hurt. It's not supposed to be like this - you were the youngest. Your vibrant spirit will live in my heart forever. Your laughter still echos in my head. You were, indeed, larger than life. I love you and will miss you - I will think of you often and I thank our God for having 53 years with you. May God hold you and keep you, may he raise his countenance upon and give you peace. Until we meet again, my heart will ache.

Your sister.

Very shocked and saddened to hear of Scott's passing at such a young age. Haven't seen Scott in many years since he moved away from the Lehigh Valley, but remember him as a good natured, easygoing, humble guy who always "talked up" others but never himself. Always a pleasure to be around. Another south-sider taken way too early. Sincere condolences to my friends in the McGuinness family. RIP my friend!

To the McGuiness family,

I have many fond memories of Scott from the South Side including Roosevelt Park and the pool and Woodward St. and just being in the neighborhood in the 70's as carefree teenagers, we were innocent good kids just having fun and Scott sure was alot of fun! It is so sad to see another good one pass away.

May all the memories of Scott give you comfort in the days ahead and may God keep you under his wing.

Mac was so smart and so honest. His laugh and beautiful smiles would light up the plumbing isles at Lowe's. He felt deeply, he lived fully... he shared his knowledge and passion for helping others each and every day. Mac, you will be missed.
